Did not have a good experience and would not come back. We had to get our own menus since the server seemed so busy handling 1 other table the place was empty. He finally came to take our orders. The owner had to bring the food out because the server was constantly no where to be found. The food looks good but over all the taste was subpar. The dumplings were sitting in oil. The brisket was huge pieces of fat and barely meat. The rice for the bowl tasted old or like a bagged minute rice. We had to ask the server 3 times for the check once it came the cost was more than on the menu. Instead of $5 for the bao bun with pork belly it was $6, instead of $21 for the tower they were trying to charge $24. The servers only response was do you want to talk to someone about it. The owner came out to explain why the charges were more since adding meat is an up charge that is no listed on the menu or was not mentioned to us by the server who took our order. The owner kept making excuses about the server being in training but the information was not even on the...
Read moreI can see why this place received such a high rating from so many people. It is fun to eat small bites and the options are very interesting. But we are a foodie family, and alas, we must confess the amount of sauce put on each of the baos was grossing us out as we were eating. Asian food is not this heavy! We ordered 3 different flavors. Cauliflower was bland--I think they just sprinkled furikake on top of the fried veggies, bulgogi was drenched. Pork was good, least sauced. The bread was dry, which was puzzling because when you steam it, it doesn't get this dry. (I'm going to assume that the buns are dry on purpose because of the amount of sauce that goes into the filling.) But I can see that this place caters to non-Asians and the idea of the collective is a really fun one. I think the flavors are good, but it was just too too much, especially the mayo. Disappointed...
Read moreThe fries were actually great.. Customer service definitely wasn’t up to par. Long wait, which was expected on a Saturday night. Bao, is what you pay for. We were told it was an 1 hour dining time limit. I asked the hostess was everyone getting told that? Clearly we waited over an hour to be seated, seen a couple there the whole time we was waiting to be seated. That was still seated when we received our food. So I politely ask a couple that was seated after us did the hostess tell them it was a hour limit. Which I was told she said no such thing. We had a group of 6, guess maybe the hostess thought that 3 married couples were in a gang or something. We had a hour limit there.. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place, food is not that great at all. Super surprised by all the good reviews.. Pay attention to the bad...
