Truth Midtown Restaurant & Lounge — Restaurant in Atlanta

A friend and I came here last night, Friday around 9:30,and they told us ,upon entering, that parking would be $10,which is ridiculous to have to pay to park your own car. I questioned it,because I had came once before and parking was $5 ,the manager then says well its $10 after 10:00 ...I explained that we got there before 10..and she did reluctantly give us our money back for parking, which I was grateful for. Now about the EXPERIENCE...I ordered the lambchops which are amazing, and I got the vegan greens which were also good,and I also got the spinach which was EXTREMELY salty..so I opted for another portion of the greens. My friend ordered the salmon with mashed potatoes and a salad..the salmon was severely DRY and hard..we didn't complain though, the mashed potatoes tasted like instant potatoes, but my friend enjoyed the salad...we got the salmon and shrimp bites as an appetizer, which came out with our food..and we both had a Hennessey margarita or should I say a cup FULL OF ICE ..still didn't complain we just figured we would go to another spot for a cocktail after dinner..they bring the bill and its $144 and some change...smh.. I reviewed the bill and noticed a service charge, and gratuity...which NORMALLY I would be cool with. Truth midtown yall have to do better..the servers have HORRIBLE customer service, and they make the overall experience regretful, they know they are going to get that gratuity anyway so they don't give a damn about your service experience. So I left her a tip that I felt like she deserved...they chased us saying that the bill wasn't payed in full...we paid for all of our food and drinks even though we weren't both satisfied. Then the security dude says to us.." IF YOU'RE BROKE JUST SAY THAT" We were taken aback..smh. I'm going to social...

We booked 8 tickets for brunch, 2 people were running behind from church. We were sat at a table for 6. We inquired about the booth only to be told that those are for parties 8 or more. Then host confirmed our 8 tickets. And said they can sit at the other table when they arrive. The other two friends decided not to come bc they didn’t want to sit at another table. We were not offered a refund or anything. My food wasn’t as displayed. My friend ordered the exact same thing and his was a full portion. Server took forever so my food got cold and I ordered a totally different dish from there. He was the best person btw, but it was busy busy. He did well. I’m sure he didn’t know what to do about the fact that my food wasn’t Right. To make matters worse the host sat a party of 4 in the booth we wanted. This made no since at all. We try to support black business but then things like this happen. There were areas of opportunity and I want to bring to your attention to improve service is all. Not trying to harm the business. Everyone should be coachable. And I pray that you take this review as just that. I’m an area supervisor for a major restaurant company and so is two others at the table, I’m the VP of a blk pride and I’ll give props when they are due. Today was a missed opportunity for me and my friends. And another table I made contact with. You have something good going Here. Just adjust the crown and remain humble bc the attitude doesn’t help. I can provide pics of food if you want it for coaching. Just let me know. Music was great! Host today was everything and the drag show was fun! Hookah was good after they fixed it. Shots were a bit expensive for what the brand was but to each its own. Could have made more off the crowd with better prices. Something to...

I went to Truth on 4/22/23 and for starters - it’s $10 to park “regular” or if you want front door parking is $20. Cash is preferred although they’ll take cash app and up charge you $1. We get inside and it’s a cute vibe! The woman at the front (host) real sweet and nice- she sat us at our table where we proceeded to wait 15 minutes before anyone came to greet us. I had to ask the young man who was over parking who was the waitress / server because our table was ready to order. He proceeded to walk to the bar where this young man had a hookah and a young woman sat- conversing. The young lady turned out to be our server. I was standing behind the gentleman who helped me and she never even looked my way…. She finally gets to the table and she her attitude is VERY off putting. She didn’t smile, she never said what her name was , she didn’t greet at all. Beyond THAT - apparently the kitchen manager was cooking that night and I wasn’t impressed. We ordered the Philly cheesesteak and the wings. The wings were decent but $10+ for 8 wings is crazy. And the “Philly” was subpar. For a Saturday night - the place never got but so crowded and most of the time - it was just my table in the restaurant and the waitress who insisted on sitting at the bar every chance she got. I will not be returning nor suggesting anyone come here! I made the mistake because TikTok made this place seem like a vibe but I was disappointed. I suggest everyone goes to try it out and feel the place out...
