My husband and I visited Dougherty’s to celebrate our wedding anniversary on 10/2, and from start to finish the experience was AMAZING!
We were greeted by a lovely hostess who sat us immediately to an oversized comfy booth in one of the Main dining areas…the atmosphere was sophisticated and energized with the chatter of patrons and wait staff.
Immediately we were welcomed to the restaurant by a gentleman who provided us water and menus, and by our waiter, Dave. If you visit request him…you will not be disappointed. Dave introduced himself, acknowledged our Anniversary, and went over my food allergies, which was impressive, because I rarely find this happening when information was provided.
Dave proceeded in taking our drink orders, my husband a glass of Oban, and for me a glass of Cabernet. We didn’t wait long…then on to food!
Our appetizer was the Wygu Carpaccio…it was delivered perfectly rare and peppered. The beef was accompanied by beautifully arranged arugula and pecorino parmigiana, and it was absolutely delicious!
For our entrees: I had the 8oz Filet with bearnaise, sautéed mushrooms, and garlic leek whipped potatoes. The Filet, cooked perfectly was only elevated by the paired sauce, and the sides were beautifully prepared. I can say that each side could feed two for sure! I must confess I’m glad I ordered them for me only, because they were enjoyed the following day as a savory reminder of the experience the night before.
My husband had the Bone in Rib-Eye with the Chimiechurrie (not spelled correctly)….he was not disappointed. The 38oz piece of meat was cooked to perfection, and he paired it with a hash brown for a side…every bite was everything he thought it would be.
We both were in food heaven!
At the end of our meal we were offered a complimentary piece of rich chocolate cake, with cream and fresh puréed raspberry sauce…we were so delighted and surprised that Dave took the time to that for us! It was a beautiful touch, and we were so appreciative.
Dave made us feel special at every turn of our service, and I cannot wait to go to visit him again! Like I said before…if your looking for quality top notch service, ask for Dave!
I want to thank everyone at Dougherty’s from the front of the house, to Chef and his team in the back for providing exceptional service and delicious food! This is what it’s all about when you think of fine dining!
You delivered in every way, and we thank you!
Looking forward to...
Read moreThank heavens Gallagher's has been replaced with a much more worthy steakhouse and raw bar... Gone is the mediocre service and wanton menu, and in came a spirited and creative menu with markedly better execution in the kitchen. The happy hour appetizers are admittedly better than the actual appetizers on the menu, however, the charcuterie board is phenomenal, with Iberico ham and real Spanish chorizo transporting you back to Europe despite a pandemic, instantly. The calamari is consistent though a small portion (Carmine's is better and three times the volume), the Wagu carpaccio is seared so it isn't really what I imagine as carpaccio, as the searing and cooling oxidizes the fatty acids and changes the entire taste of the dish. The entrees again are limited in number but largely well executed. The spicy lobster pasta is delicious, though moments of it feel like eating chunks of onion and herbs, rather than a silky sauce worthy of lobster and papardelle.... it was like making proper vodka sauce without using a blender... the flavor is, however, delicious and adequately spicy to earn its title. The delmonico steak was cooked perfectly for both plates at out table. The salmon was inadequately crusted or charred, and largely unremarkable. The crab cakes were only browned on one side, and egregiously bland, inadequate in flavor and cooking technique. The kiwi salsa was welcome and fresh, but did not make up for the absolute lack of flavor in the material crab cake itself, nor its improper cooking. Either pan fry them, or flip them once under the salamander. The Brussel sprouts were excellent, skip the pole beans, they are wildly undercooked. For dessert the chocolate cake was delicious but extremely dry. Service was excellent, which made up for the 4 star food, bringing them to an...
Read moreOur server, Jonathan was wonderful. Our food was delicious. However, the hosts (the girls taking you to your seat) were rude. We didn't have a reservation; however, looking in the restaurant it was easy to see you didn't need one. It was fairly empty. I asked to sit in one of the booths She told me it was reserved. I pointed to anther one. She told me that one, too was reserved. And yes, a third booth I pointed to was also reserved. Ten minutes later, she seats two gentlemen at a table similar to the one my husband I were sitting. The one gentleman pointed to a booth and said he'd like to sit there. She sat them there!! Mind you, my husband and I had just drooped a lot of $$ there for dinner. It was my 65th birthday, and I wanted to go there. Also, no one came and sat in any of the booths!! They remained empty when my husband and I left an hour later. I mentioned this to our waiter Jonathan who apologized for our experience and told me he was going to let the manager know. In a minute, the manager was at our table wanting to know what had happened. She apologized, saying their behavior was unacceptable, and that she would be speaking with the girls (I really hope she did). . She comped our drinks and our dessert, which was very kind of her to do. So-- if you go there, see these two young girls (they both have long dark hair and look very much alike) and tell them you want to sit in a booth, and they tell you they're reserved, I would question it. I wouldn't believe a...
