White House Subs certainly lived up to the hype. would have loved to hit the original location in AC but had to be at the hotel for other reasons. so here we went. after a bit of menu confusion, mainly due to the wearing of masks, my wife and i decided to order a whole(!) ham, genoa, cappacolla, & provolone sub. with all the fixings except peppers. well a whole is 18" long!! so we got much more than we were ever going to finish in one lunch. the sandwich was terrific. overstuffed with meats and cheese, fresh crisp veggies, tasty oil and vinegar and a crusty bread that held it all together superbly. one of the best sandwiches of any kind in recent memory. decided to not even unwrap the other half and see if it was still good the next day. well the bread was a bit soggy on one side from the dressing and a bit hard on the other from the refrigeration. lettuce was bad but the rest of the filling was easily transferred to a new roll for another days lunch. can't wait to try again.

We were thrilled to see that White House subs has a shop within the Hard Rock Casino resort in addition to their original location on Artic Avenue. It’s been an Atlantic City landmark for decades and is a must do for locals and tourists because their sandwiches are just that darned good! Their legendary bread melts in your mouth. Our favourite is the 1/2 original cold Italian which is almost big enough to share with 4 people. Don’t let the 1/2 size fool you- it’s about 12” long, stuffed with super fresh ingredients. We love their signature oil with oregano sauce, and with the meat, provolone, lettuce, onions, tomatoes and mayo - you’ve got yourself a sandwich that will make you exclaim “Mamma Mia”! Lots of other sandwich choices to pick from, very reasonably priced. Note that this is a walk up counter to place your order. There’s some tables and chairs available in the front. Don’t leave AC without trying a White House sub done the true Jersey Way.

This is the new and second location of White House sub shop inside the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. I've been to the original and this doesn't seem any different in taste. The submarines were very good. I had the Special which is the Italian with double of the Genoa salami, provolone, ham, and capicola. I love their Italian bread so soft and chewy. Holds everything in place. Its topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, oil, and vinegar. Add the roasted peppers......so good! Also got the full size Cheesesteak, I couldn't believe the size of the full. Foot and a half long! Their cheesesteak is definitely different from Philly since they add lettuce and tomatoes. All in all a great option if you're in the Casino. Better than having to drive out to the original location, outside the Casinos.

Horrible place. It does not deserve even one star for service . I have been going to the White House in Atlantic City for over 45 years. I have always loved it ....Loved the subs. I have business in travel and take 1000s of people for seminars into the Tri State weekly. I always recommend if someone says they are going to Atlantic City that WHITE HOUSE is a MUST PLACE TO VISIT. Not anymore...Never again. I have been living in New Jersey and Arizona. I was in Atlantic City staying at Ocean Casino for my Anniversary. Everytime I go I bring back a bunch of large Italian subs and steaks and we wake up the kids and have a late night feast when I get home. This last trip was a little off time wise and weather. And I missed the original shop which closed at 9pm. I was so disappointed. We where telling out dealer at Ocean we would be missing our tradition and how disappointed the kids would be. He looked at his watch and and said if you High tail it to the Hard Rock they close at 11pm. Off we ran. I got there at 10:45pm. The doors where partially shut while the guys on the grill where making the last ordered Cheese steaks. I asked if I could come in and order some subs? I told them what we had been through...promised no grill. They all smiled and said, Sure come on in. They where great guys, all big smiles and warm. Looked like they had a long day but still willing to be kind. I walked back and the young lady at the order counter and she was doing something and we waited for her attention. While I was waiting with my wife. A small little older man , a white guy with grey hair and a black baseball hat....who looked like he had not worked all day. Clean, no sweat on him. He Yelled at me, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? (So condescending) I said, waiting to order subs. We're closed he shouted, and gestured for us to leave. I said, don't you close at 11? And pointed at the wall that it was only 10:47pm. He looked at me and said, we have to clean up don't we? I turned and left. The guys up front said to him that they told me to come in. They asked me to stay. Nice guys...the ones up front working hard, they are good guys. Shame, they should go work somewhere else. I can only imagine how they get treated if an owner allows customers to be treated so rude and disrespectful. I owned restaurants, and have owned sandwich shops. When I advertised I was open...I was open. When I closed I cleaned up. I am a grown man, and my parents respect me enough not to speak to me like that and they gave me life. When you have been doing something so long that you do not CARE about 45 years of one customer spending their money with you, it is time to close down and move to florida. Completely WRECKED OUR NIGHT. Good luck in florida. I will go to Sac-o- Subs from now , and I will tell my thousands of customers to...

As a lover of Atlantic City, going to White House Subs shop is always a treat. I make it my priority to go there at least twice during my visit. Sadly, as a result of the pandemic, I was unable to visit for a long time. Coincidentally, I decided to take a quick trip to Atlantic City during my recent stay in the Big Apple. After booking a room at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, I jumped in my CyberTruck and drove to their signature location, going above the speed limit just to get there before it closed. Unfortunately, the traffic was a nightmare, and it closed before I could get there. I decided to head to the hotel, grab something to eat at the buffet, and call it a night. As I was walking to my room, I passed several restaurants in the “Flavor Tour.” Trying to choose between Burgers and Hops and the Asian Fusion was like picking the lesser of two evils. I dropped to my knees, famished and disappointed at my choices, praying for a solution. As I open my eyes, I saw the White House Subs sign in the hotel. I couldn’t believe my luck. There was a new White House Sub shop in my hotel! After thanking the Lord for my good fortune, I skipped to the front of the line and ordered my favorite submarine - a cheesesteak sub. Cautiously optimistic that it would taste even half as good as their signature location, after waiting 10 minutes for my order, I took my first bite of the sandwich. Amazingly, it tasted even better! The bread was soft and freshly made, the steak was perfectly cooked and lean, and the cheese was just like you’d find in Philly. Thankfully, I ordered it with everything on it. If you get a chance to go to big AC, just head to the Flavor Tour in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, grab a sub, and you won’t be...

Buyer beware!!!

Raw meat being handled with the same gloves making your sandwich!!

In the middle of making my sandwich, the guy walked over to the freezer, grabbed a big bag of raw chicken out, dug his hands in and grabbed what he needed, put it on the griddle to make a chicken cheesesteak, and then returned to finish making my cold sandwich.

I was totally disgusted, with raw meat being handled new gloves should be put on IMMEDIATELY. In fact, one worker should be handling the raw meats and another should be making the sandwiches so that there is no cross contamination. This is not only common sense, but proper food service and safety protocol, meaning they could lose their license to make and sell food. I politely told him that I would like my sandwich remade. He began arguing with me, rolling his eyes, and acting like a street thug. He said there was nothing wrong with what he did, so apparently they do this all the time. I asked for a refund and won't ever go back there.

Moral of the story, if you don't want to end up very sick, keep a close eye or even better, support a business who follows all food safety regulations and one who treats their customers with respect and appreciates...
