Took my daughter here for her birthday dinner with family 5 days ago. She was missing two items in her classic combo and was disappointed in the food. My husband, myself and son all got the all you can eat Mix and match deals. The wings and tenders were hard and did not taste good. I clanked it on my plate and it sounded like a rock hitting it. You could tell they had been sitting for a while. Also, the riblets were almost all bone. I thought they would be boneless little chunks as it said boneless at the top near the mix and match with wings and tenders. They also brought it out slopped in bbq sauce with some fries on a tiny appetizer plate instead of the larger dinner plate. It then started falling off my plate and sauce and fries were getting all over the table and myself. We had to ask the waitress MULTIPLE times for refills before she finally brought them. We waited forever on our food. Two of the people in our group had already been served and ate their whole meals before we even got ours. And when we finally did, it was hard and dry. We were put in a corner with 3 random sized tables shoved together. First, a circle table shoved up against the wall (4 of us sitting at it), a regular square or rectangle one (5 people seated at it), pushed up against it, and a tiny two person rectangle table (2 adult men and a toddler in a high chair seated at it) for our party of 12. They had a whole empty section right behind us that they could have put us in and when we said “this whole side is empty, we could have sat over there like we have in the past for birthday dinners and have a lot more room,” we were told (by what appeared to be a manager) in what we all felt was a rude/ condescending tone, “that section is closed and we’re not seating people there.” I’m assuming it was closed because there wasn’t a lot of customers in the restaurant that day. Only 2 out of the 11 people were satisfied with the quality & taste of the food. Everyone agreed the service wasn’t great. And everyone agreed we were crammed together and shoved into a corner where it was tight and hot and that it ruined the atmosphere and dining experience. We had five different receipts between everyone there and 3 were messed up and had to be fixed. We are sad that this was our dining experience and we spent almost $90 for that for just the four of us. And on her birthday at that! I saw lots of similar complaints on public facebook groups about the Auburn Applebee’s and how people were disappointed in the food and service lately, but, I thought I would go ahead and give it a try since we usually have a pleasant experience and enjoy our meals there. I wish we had chosen somewhere else now to be honest. I would have complained to the manager before we left the restaurant but after the way they acted when we weren’t happy with our seating, I figured it would be pointless. I am very disappointed and not sure if any of us will return there to eat in the future. If I could give less than one...
Read moreThe most disappointed I've been in a diner service in awhile. There were only 2 tables, us and then a couple and their kids who were there before us. He forgot their kid's mac and cheese and then the bartender comes over to bring him his beer and said it was sitting up there forever. We sit down, order the spinach dip for an appetizer, it comes out with all broken up chips. Most of the chips were broke into very small pieces. I ordered the Bourbon Street Steak and when it came out, it was the regular 6oz sirloin steak meal. So I told our waiter what I originally ordered and it was missing the mushrooms and onion. After awhile he brings them out with shrimp too. I can't eat shrimp and what I ordered didn't come with shrimp. By this time my boyfriend and I had both finished our drinks and had them sitting at the end of the table. He asked if there was anything else we needed. My boyfriend had already asked for a refill on his drink 5 minutes prior. So I asked again for refills. He brings our drinks and my boyfriend had the pop rocking Shirley which the first one he got was good and had Starry in it. The second one had no Starry in it, just lemonade with syrup. So we let our waiter know it was different from the first one and had no Starry in it. He said "That's funny because I definitely put Starry in it." He never took his first cup away which had a little bit of the first drink in it and sitting the drinks side by side, the first one had bubbles and was carbonated. The second one was flat with no bubbles. The first table has now left and another couple comes in and order an appetizer. Our waiter brings the bill and I'm looking over it and was charged for the missing mushroom and onions and also the shrimp. We told him we weren't paying for the shrimp because neither of us ate it and it wasn't with what I ordered. He took off the shrimp, mushrooms and onions which I don't believe I should of got charged for in the first place. We were sitting there waiting on the bill to come back with my card, and another waiter tries to give us the other tables appetizer. I thought it was kind of obvious where the appetizer went since my boyfriend and I were already done with our food and had dirty plates and napkins on the table. He finally brought my card back with the receipt and didn't have anything for me to sign or leave a tip, which was fine because he wasn't getting a...
Read moreDecided to go there this past Sunday to celebrate our anniversary. Upon entering there were 4 employees huddled around the hostess station with all their backs to us, no one turned around until my husband asked me if I just wanted to sit at the bar, because why would we want to break up the employee pow-wow of them ignoring customers. Both of us decided to try the chicken parmesan, HUGE mistake. Later that night we were both quite ill (NOT HOW WE WANTED TO SPEND OUR ANNIVERSARY), it’s now Tuesday and I still am quite queasy. As much as we love our Italian food, Applebee’s doesn’t know squat about it. Not only did it make us sick, but the sauce was awful, very basic and tasted like spaghetti-o sauce. I know most things come frozen or in a bag there, but there was absolutely no love in the chicken parmesan, it tased as if it was made of sadness & hate. The only reason I gave 2 stars, was because the two bartenders that served us our food, were very nice, if it weren’t for them, definitely 1 star. We won’t be returning any time soon because this was “Our giving your restaurant another try” try. The time before that, our waitress outright crossed a line and excessively flirted with my husband, calling him honey and baby & treated me very rudely. He even told her to stop, she didn’t. Her tip that night wasn’t money, but a nice note telling her to go be a wh*re on her own time. Improve your staff etiquette and your food and we may return, may not, but no other customers need to be subjected to awful, subpar food and unwanted sexual harassment...
