Sonora Carne Asada House — Restaurant in Auburn

I'm going to be honest, the place seemed perfect. The restaurant was clean, the inside was beautiful, the lady in the front was polite, there was an impressive serving bar with good sides and the biggest lemons I've seen in a Taco place. They told us about the impressive portion sizes, and they didn't lie. We were served in a short time. But then.. the food. The food is the only bad thing in this restaurant. The al pastor ones were great, best ones in the restaurant. The asada ones were decent, but nothing special. The barbacoa ones were not good, it was obvious they just boiled the beef with some spices and condiments, zero chiles, no consommé. DO NOT ORDER TRIPA! they fried them to the point it feels like you are chewing oily sticks. And no matter how long you chew, it will slowly and painfully slide down your throat. You will get a stomachache afterwards and you are not sure if it was all the oil they used, or the fact that they probably refried the tripa to use it longer. I would only ever go back for...

Service was amazing. 🤩 a little pricey but so worth it with two tacos and your done. We have gone more than 3 times have tried most of it. Would definitely recommend it to you. Was no tostadas and asked for some owner sent like six amazing. free tostadas and condiments are fantastic they was alittle low on them but they was good. Food is overpriced. Over cooked asada (beef) tough and chewy. Tripe has no flavor and served in long strips. The flavored water was very bland. The Salsa is worth like (2) stars rating.
