Last night, I eagerly opened the app and added my family of five to the waitlist at 5:37 PM, the anticipation building as it assured us we had a manageable wait of just 1 hour and 15 minutes. When we arrived and checked in, the hostess cheerfully informed us it would only be another 15 minutes—a promising sign. We settled in, expecting to be called soon, but as 30 minutes ticked by without our name being announced, I began to feel a twinge of worry. I approached the hostess once more, asking how much longer we’d have to wait. She assured me it would just be another 15 minutes. More time passed without any movement; another half-hour slipped by, and still, we were left standing there, growing increasingly impatient.
Finally, I approached the hostess again. With a confused expression, she told us, “Oh, you’re next.” It was hard to ignore the hint of frustration in her tone, as if my inquiry was an annoyance. Eager for our turn, we made our way to the front, but the clock continued to tick. An extra 15 minutes melted away, during which six more tables were seated, leaving us still waiting. After a grueling two and a half hours—yes, you read that right, two and a half hours—we were finally shown to our table.
Once seated, my husband ordered a Bloody Mary garnished with a skewer of succulent shrimp, the kids opted for soda, and I requested a refreshing water with lemon. We also ordered two appetizers to start, our stomachs grumbling with anticipation. The drinks arrived swiftly, but my husband's Bloody Mary was delivered sans the promised shrimp or vegetables. Fortunately, our server promptly rectified this oversight.
Soon, our meal orders were placed: my two daughters chose the classic kids' cheeseburger meal, while my son went for a half slab of ribs, and my husband selected a filet, leaving me with a sirloin. As we waited, our hunger overcame us, and we devoured the warm, fluffy rolls that accompanied our meal, eagerly asking for more.
When the appetizers finally arrived, we were met with disappointment—the blooming onion was overcooked, charred in places and overly crispy, while the bacon cheese fries arrived barely warm, their shredded cheese unmelted and lackluster. After picking at the appetizers, we moved on, but our spirits lifted when the kids’ soda refills arrived promptly, thanks to our attentive server.
Next came the Caesar salads, which, unfortunately, fell flat in flavor. My husband enjoyed his, but my son left his untouched, while my daughter tried a few bites of mine. Finally, the main courses graced our table. My husband's filet and my sirloin were cooked to perfection, but where were the baked potatoes? The manager, a man in a crisp blue dress shirt, informed us that the baked potatoes were still baking and temporarily unavailable. After a brief wait, he returned, delivering the much-anticipated baked potatoes just in time for us to enjoy our meals fully.
My son, however, was met with disappointment as he cut into his half rack of ribs, discovering they were predominantly fatty. Left unsatisfied, he nibbled on some extra dinner rolls. Sadly, our server missed the chance to replace his meal, which would have made all the difference.
As we wrapped up our dinner, we asked for to-go boxes for the girls' meals and my potato. Here came the kicker: we handed our server two coupons for free appetizers and two free kids' meals, which my children had received from school. When she returned, she informed us that she needed to split the bill into three checks to utilize the coupons. I shrugged and said to do whatever was necessary. However, when she returned with the bill, the manager had condensed everything onto a single check. We were pleased—until we looked closely at the receipt after getting home. Only two kids' meals were discounted, and one appetizer was removed, leaving our unused coupon for a free appetizer discarded.
All in all, this experience did not inspire us to return. The music is also very loud. Despite the challenges, we tipped our server generously, leaving her over $20 for...
Read moreDecember 27th was our first time at this location to eat. Our friend put an reservation in and we arrived on time with a ten minute wait which wasn't bad at all. Great food, our waiter was amazing hands down the best night out with our friends for dinner. Feb 14, 2025 was a disaster. I placed our reservation at 5:30pm and was told to wait 2hr wait time which was fine as we drove over 40min to get there. As we arrived the parking lot was a nightmare and we circled over twenty times til a spot opened up. It wasn't our turn yet but I did hit the button that says let us know you're here which I did and I got the test saying to wait til a text came in for us to go inside. So now it's 7:45pm we go inside just to see where we were at. The guy at front with the tablet took my information and found that we were three screens back and about a two hour wait so now it's four hours later from my reservation time. So we left for good and went across town to eat and it took us five minutes to get in and sat down and food was awesome. Then I finally got the text at 8:55pm which is an hour n twenty minutes after our reservation time. The guy at the front at Texas Roadhouse said I'm sorry but we can take two people faster than a group and people were walking in to get on the list and a lot of people were walking out. Since it was Valentine's Day night suggestion stop taking reservations at 5:30pm that day. Instead of letting it stay open for days. Once reservations got full then that's when you turn people away. Definitely a first fail at the Auburn Indiana location. If our experience was kinda like the Dec 27th then I would've given a five review but since our second time and it was on Valentine's Day I overall gave a three but last night's...
Read moreThis was my fiancé and I’s first time eating at this Texas Roadhouse location and probably will be our last… we got on the waitlist and went in at 9:57 got seated at 10 and there were rolls at the table and butter and our drinks order was taken and we ordered the onion blossom as an appetizer the onion blossom was good on the outside but the inside of it wasn’t cooked it was doughy so we didn’t finish it. For our entree he ordered the 8oz sirloin with a salad and green beans and I ordered chicken critters with a loaded sweet potato and Mac and cheese. He got about halfway through his salad and it started causing his stomach to hurt and he had really bad stomach pain on the ride home when we got home he threw up and was dizzy my food wasn’t bad and it didn’t cause me any problems but I didn’t eat a salad. It took us over 40 minutes to even get our food and there really wasn’t many people in there for it being a Friday which is not typical for Texas Roadhouse. Our waiter Derek was friendly and attentive to us and we realized he didn’t control how slow the kitchen was so he still received a tip my 1 star for the service wasn’t directed towards him but the people in the kitchen are sooooo slow and I know it wasn’t just us with slow service cuz one of my friends said the same exact thing about their experience. I had higher expectations for this restaurant because it’s always sooo good but this particular location...
