My cousin (a Georgia native) spoke very highly of pizza joint so I was expecting an awesome meal. Well, unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. I don't want to say pizza joint is bad, but for my first time there, I was highly disappointed. I am in town for a couple days, visiting from California and wanted to like this place, however the experience this evening was pretty terrible. We came In Super hungry and got the worst waiter ever. A young guy with long hair, glasses and was wearing some kind of hippe, poncho, blanket thing. I had to ask him more than once to fill our drinks, (I had a hungry pregnant woman and 11 year old girl with me) he was so slow, lazy and unprofessional. I had to wait 40 minutes for our food to arrive after asking about it, the appetizer came with the food which clearly was sitting under a heat lamp for some time. When we received it, the food was definitely not fresh. I couldn't finish my food it because of the heat lamp and the soaked grease. The best part of the meal was the marinara sauce, coupled with the shaker parmesean, it was really good. The sweet tea was excellent as well. Eventually we called the manager over and explained the situation. Long story short he handled things for us.

Recommend: Trying the Mellow Mushroom which is a 3 min walk from this place. Summary: 1. Very poor value for the money paid! 2. Came here as suggested by a student, as we were driving through Augusta- but don’t have too many good things to say about the service (see cons below) Pros: Decent tasting pizza and calzone- reasonably priced. Courteous folks, with a hollow service! Cons: I came here at 830pm to order 2 pizzas and a calzone. The wait was 35 mins to get the food. So placed a to-go order, came back in 20 min after short walk. Asked for a beer and was told around 850pm that the last call had happened. Subsequently, around 855pm a, asked for sweet tea and was told they had poured it out. As we changed our mind and sat to eat, which the restaurant was aware, we were given plastic utensils to use- as opposed to proper silverware. Well, I know that this would be the last place I will stop by next time I visit Augusta. Leave it up to those who read my post. I tried to give a local business additional business, but they closed services even before their 9pm closing time. And were courteous with a hollow service and poor value for money🤔

Our waiter was awesome! I came in Halloween evening with daughter, grandkids, and their friends. My husband wasn’t with us but he ask me to bring home a supreme pizza for him and my son. Our waiter said he would wait to order it so it is fresh right before we left. We went right home and open the box to find the pizza was burnt and not eatable. I am so disappointed in staff and management at your downtown location. You tell me why I should ever eat at any Pizza joints locations??? Boy was I upset to see your restaurant would even send this home with us. I am furious that anyone with any dignity looking at this pizza would even be tempted to put it in a box and think it was okay!!!! This pizza is not suitable for a homeless person to eat . My family and friends have been a loyal customer for many years , so you need to make this right. I took pictures of pizza for you to see this disgusting food. Yours truly one dissatisfied customer, Lind Parker

Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday. The server informed me most of the soft drink syrups were out so I chose a sweet tea to drink no big deal. They had a limited menu and staff due to covid. I had garlic knots for an appetizer which were surprisingly dry and the sauce was canned tasting. I immediately thought I had made a mistake stopping here for lunch. About 15 minutes later my 2 slices arrived...wow! So, no regrets here! The veggie had half a garden of vegetables perched atop- it was a delightful flavor combination. The cheese was a classic oily sensation that makes you want more. I can't believe the amazing flavors I experienced! The let down was the service, the server disappeared for many smoke breaks and didn't return for 30 minutes while I waited on the bill. Thanks for the food Pizza Joint!

This place is dated: the floor is sticky, air vents are dusty, and stocks are everywhere in the floor. Went for lunch and needed to wait 50 minutes for a calzone and a Stromboli. And the restaurant was not full or nearly packed. No interaction with the server until food was served; not a single “everything ok?, excuse the wait…” I did like the red sauce. Food was ok, but not worth the experience. I would not recommend this place. There’s so much competition in the pizza category and this place is falling back, bumping with the basics.
