Had another great experience at this Qamaria location near the Fox Valley Mall in Aurora. Drove up on a sunny afternoon just a little after 2pm to see a couple of groups enjoying their drinks and snacks in this last bit of beautiful summer weather on the patio. Inside the cafe there were a couple of tables taken but still plenty of open space to hang out if I'd had the chance to.
The staff were friendly and patient as I took my time scanning the menu, the specials and the many pastries on display. I ordered an iced Qamaria latte along with a chicken pie.
They told me it would be right out so I sat down but made the mistake of sitting close enough to the display case full of all the cakes so my sweet tooth ended up getting the better of me and I was suddenly back at the register ordering some baklava and a slice of date cake.
The drink and pastries were out shortly after my moment of weakness and the staff member thanked me again when I picked everything up. Everything looked and tasted delicious. I was actually surprised at how much I enjoyed the Qamaria latte as I'm not the biggest fan of honey but in combination with the cardamom and cinnamon it was great! Would be really interested in getting a warm version once fall sets in.
The chicken pie is a wonderful savory option. Tasty dough with a generous amount of nicely seasoned slices of chicken underneath melted cheese. It was heated up for me and smelled and tasted so good once I sank into it. The date cake was rich and very flavorful as well. I saved the trio of baklava for a little later and am happy that those were just as good as everything...
Read moreI visited Qamaria - Aurora today. I was looking forward to a pleasant outing with my daughter. We were searching for an authentic chi tea experience. I checked the reviews, which for the most part were good. So we decided to try Qamaria today. The coffee shop is beautiful. We loved the ambience and expansiveness of the store. Additionally the menu items and fresh pastry display was awesome. The products we ordered and received were good.
However.... The customer service was subpar. There was a woman behind the counter that stared at us when we walked in until we walked out. I acknowledged her by smiling and waving and was trying to be friendly. But her stares and stoic facial expression, left me with the impression that she did not want us there in the store. I don't know if she was the owner or an employee. But she knew the other employees. Further, when we ordered, the young man behind the counter WAS NOT friendly, and barely noticed us. He didn't say thank you or anything once we completed our transaction. There was an older white gentleman standing in line before us. He ordered his vanilla latte. He was provided with an appropriate salutation and received gratitude for his purchase. We, however did not. We were made to feel as if our money and patronage was not wanted. This is so sad; particularly in this day and age, and state of our society as it is.
I will most likely not frequent this establishment again. While the product was good, that lack of acceptance and friendliness towards other ethnic groups was not.

Read moreGreat place!! I got an Iced Mocha Latte with light ice, extra creamer, and hazelnut added. Coffee was sooooo delicious, so rich with the taste of the coffee shining through. And I'm not really even a coffee person either but it was so delicious and evenly balanced. I also got a saffron milk cake and a honeycomb (bread? I think it was a bread??). The milk cake I didn't realize was basically like a soaked or drunken cake. As a personal preference it wasn't my cup of tea in terms of texture but the flavor was definitely there and 🔥. The honeycomb bread was also really good and an interesting item. I got it untoasted (don't recommend getting it untoasted) and found that in the different honeycomb bubbles there was butter. So if I had gotten it toasted the butter would have melted into the bread. But even untoasted, super delicious, and they give you honey along with it. But overall great experience and I will be going back especially for the cheesecake. I didn't get any cheesecake this time but it looked really interesting and also quite delicious. The overall atmosphere in the shop was also quite light, friendly, relaxing. There was space or seating for people to sit and work as well. Also the shop smelled sooo good too. I was wearing a mask but I could smell the cheesecake even through my mask 😆 But great experience, would...
