El Tacorrido — Restaurant in Austin

This place use to be amazing. Good portions, friendly employees and correct orders. For about the last two years I have watched this place slowly get worse and worse.

First the portions got smaller, understandably since food prices increased. Then the employees became less and less friendly, sometimes ignoring you at the window for up to five minutes, when you can see them at the register through the cracks in the stickers. Lately, they are been messing up our orders so frequently that neither myself nor my husband will leave the parking lot until we check the order. One time it was forgetting the chips for chips and queso, then it was putting beef in the bean and cheese tacos and tonight it was putting bacon in my bean/cheese tacos. This wouldn’t usually matter but I am a vegetarian following almost dying from poorly cooked meat as a kid.

It is with sadness that I give a place I once loved and recommend such a low score. I used them for all business breakfasts and after workout meals. That is no longer the case. Tonight I gave them their last and final try because my son still loves them. With the bacon in my taco, I bid them adieu. Not from a lack of trying on my part, but...

I had a terrible experience at this place. Although the location is not ideal the customer service is what made me decide to never go back there.

I drove up to tacorrido and was 2 cars behind from ordering. When I finally got to the menu and ordering speaker the employee asked me to wait. Not a big deal I had been.waiting for at least 15 minutes already a couple more minutes wouldn't hurt. But nope, she took another 10 minutes. Needless to say, the car in front of me was already at the pick up window and I STILL had not placed my order it wasn't until I loudly said HELLO before the employee acknowledged I was there and took my order.

Now this wouldn't have made me give this place a 1 star what did was that after I paid and got my drinks the employee asked me to pull up. So I pulled up assuming perhaps my order would take longer than the car behind me but not the case. The girl yelled out the window "ma'am did I give you the food? " I replied "no. You asked me to pull up.." she then asked me to wait and a few minutes later yells here you go. I look back to the window and see her holding my bag of food out the window . I had been to Tacorrido once before and really enjoyed it. The two veggie tacos were really good and the prices are fair.

However, I went again this past weekend. I got two veggie tacos and one fish. The fish taco tasted a little bit off but I didn't think anything of it.

I ate my tacos around 10 pm, and then went to bed a couple hours later. Suddenly at 2 in the morning or so I woke up and felt extremely sick. Soon I was violently vomiting over and over. For the next 24 hours I was extremely sick and could barely even keep down a sip of water. My whole stomach area had a constant pain going through it, I felt extremely weak, and very dizzy. I couldn't think straight, and I could barely get up to walk around. The whole experience was very painful and difficult. I haven't gotten sick like this in years.

So yeah, never going here again. Also, I posted about this on my Instagram and from my small amount of followers, TWO other people said they have gotten sick from Tacorrido as well.
