This is a six-star venue. Had the pleasure of seeing one of my favorite artists here, Charley Crockett, in his best performance to date. The band was tight, like a well fitted suit. The crowd was sold out and energized. And CC was on fire 🔥🦎🎤 Here are some snipers from his show…just enough to encourage you to buy his music and support a living legend whose only just begun. Go back and listen to all his older music and videos too. The Scoot Inn’s atmosphere is a dream of walking into a fantasy honkytonk speakeasy, blending timelessness and the quintessential with modernity and magic. Almost as if characters of the venue, people dress to impress. We’re all just actors, here to play the part. Great bar service…but the point of sale should have been UNION TabbedOut, like so many other bars in Austin. Ran into another local bar owner using UNION at The Scoot Inn that night. And That’s telling of the patronage that flocks to a place like this. I’ll be back again soon. And can’t believe I didn’t have time for some of the recommended food. I like the slow and metered line - get there early! It makes it so pleasant to get in early, grab a chair in one of the various sitting areas - like the piano That’s been painted truckbed ruggedized on the outside and solid gold on the inside. Seats are comfy. Or the trade off to be in the upper sitting area facing the stage. But again, be first 30-50 people on line for that action option. I always choose to be in second row from the stage. And go with a friend to save your place while someone goes on drink duty. Certainly I was star struck with the performer I’ve seen many times…but the Historic Scoot Inn is easily in my top five venues of all...

On September 9th, 2024, my wife and I attended a Novo Amor concert at Scoot Inn. While the music was great, the experience with the staff and policies was horrendous. First, you're not allowed to bring your own water—even with a medical excuse. I understand safety concerns, but once inside, there’s no free water available. Instead, they sell this beer-like can of water for $7. No bottled options, just overpriced canned water.
I reluctantly purchased one, only to have the cashier ask if I wanted a receipt. When I said yes, another worker chimed in sarcastically, “It’s just $7 bucks. Do you really need a receipt for that?” Excuse me? I always get receipts for my purchases—especially at new places where future charges could occur, and not that it's his concern, but I had multiple uses for the receipt. The comment was rude and unnecessary.
To top it off, after the concert ended, we still had half the can of water left. Security stopped us at the exit and told us we couldn’t take it with us. Seriously? You don’t let us bring our own water, charge us $7 for yours, and then force us to throw it away? Absolutely absurd.
The staff’s rude attitude and these ridiculous policies ruined what should have been an enjoyable evening. I will NEVER return to this venue, and I highly recommend others avoid it as well. Scoot Inn is a complete rip-off with zero regard for customer...
Read moreI appreciated the proximity to public transportation, considering I visited on ACL weekend and it was easier to walk to the venue than drive. The concert area was very similar to Stubb's or The Belmont, although I was in the second row and still found it very hard to see with the amount of people. The tech was amazing- the lighting and sound technician contributed greatly to the atmosphere of the concert- and the stage allowed us to be up close and personal with the performers. We waited outside for an hour or two before the concert started and the staff was kind enough to bring out a cooler with water so we could have something to drink. The people were very nice and I enjoyed the concert. If it weren't for the fact that the opening act was changed at the last minute and the layout wasn't ideal I would've definitely given The Scoot Inn a...
