We had Sunday brunch here and can't wait to come back. Where to start...the atmosphere, employees, or food? Cenote is in a beautifully restored property with ambiance galore. Indoor and outdoor seating is available and there was hardly a wait for seating at 10:30. The employees were attentive to our needs and were happy to make suggestions about menu items. The barista was finishing our drink orders as we completed our transaction at the register. Then the food started arriving to our table. The chips, salsa and guacamole were fresh and homemade. The bacon empanada hit every savory note and the guasacaca sauce was a fantastic compliment. Everything about the OMG breakfast was delicious...eggs, breakfast potatoes, sausage, bacon, French toast and a biscuit, definitely big enough to share!!! We subbed fries for the side with our carnitas tacos and once again another winning plate. The tacos were built with cilantro, onion and salsa on top of some of the best carnitas in Austin. The fries, skin on but cut and fried in a unique way then seasoned just right with what I am assuming is a special blend. Oh and let me tell you about their breakfast tacos, they're stuffed, fresh made and delectable. The 50/50 tortilla complimented our 2 filling choices of homefried potatoes, egg and cheese and bacon, egg and cheese and the salsa was the perfect finishing touch to them. Overall there was not a single bad bite had amongst the 4 of us and all we could do on the ride home was discuss how blown away we were by a place we've driven by so many times for other dining options. Do yourself a favor and choose Cenote as your...
Read moreThis is my honest review of Cenote. I have been wanting to come here for a while and was very excited. Upon arrival, there was outside parking which was good. The place is very nice inside and has a cute coffee shop vibe. Workers were very nice and helpful as well. I ordered a coffee drink with Sakura and it was quite small but pretty good. I also ordered a potato, egg, and cheese breakfast taco. The taco was pretty big and looked good. After trying some, I was not very satisfied the taco didn’t have much flavor. It tasted more like a tortilla with an omelette and some home fries with salsa on top. The taco was not very good in all honesty. On top of this the free wifi they had was very hard to connect to and asked me to sign on my information just to access then proceed not to work for the time I was sitting down trying to get work done. I figured it was just my laptop but it still would not work. I went outside to see if I could get it to work and it finally connected. Kind of frustrating that I needed to step outside just to access WiFi while in a coffee shop. I would honestly need Cenote to provide me with something free for me to go back and I would consider editing my review. For now, I don’t know if I was very satisfied with...
Read moreDecoded to stop in to this place randomly while playing pokemon go, there is a gym here, so I could use the restroom and decided to give their pesto burger out (I guess it was a burger of the onto or something?) and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. Even having to substitute ciabatta bread for the bread it normally came on, it was Juicy, and hot and had a superb taste. The pesto was well made and blended with the roasted tomatoes perfectly. I usually don't care much for French fries but these shoestring style potatoes were fried perfectly and tossed in some kind of Cajun rub that was perfectly seasoned. It was the type of meal that is so balanced that you can get through the entire plate without having to take a drink. The staff was patient and helpful as I ordered and the food was ready fairly quickly despite the steadily growing amount of patrons. It was a bit pricy, after tipping I spent around $25 but that included the burger, fries, doppelganger soda (like Dr pepper?) And a cold brew coffee so not too steep considering the establishment. All in all it was a very pleasant experience and I highly recommend anyone debating...
