Zalat Pizza — Restaurant in Austin

This review is for the 22 inch Pho Sizzle. To be honest, I actually feel pretty bad about writing a negative review, but the food sadly just didn't meet my expectations.

When I placed an order, I originally wanted the 14 inch version, but changed my mind after paying. The cashier was VERY KIND and ended up not charging me extra to upgrade to the 22 inch, so I basically got the 22 inch version for the price of the 14 inch.

However, when I arrived to pick up the pizza, the cook forgot to add the basil and brown sauce onto the pizza, and I had to return to the store for them to fix it before leaving, despite the pizza box saying that it was inspected and signed for quality.

Unfortunately though, the pizza was disgusting. First of all, there was barely any chicken / meat on the pizza, so it was difficult to become full or feel nourished since everything was mainly just veggies and dough. Second, the dough was a bit too stall / hard for my taste. And finally, after eating the pizza, I strangely felt light-headed and weak for a few hours, and actually became sick with diarrhea. I'm not sure if it's because the food was dirty since the restaurant appeared reasonably clean, maybe it's because something in the ingredients just didn't agree with my body.

For the price that I paid, I expected a bit more. And truthfully, I feel quite bad about writing this review, especially since the cashier was so nice and waived the fee to upgrade to the 22 inch version. Bad sadly, the truth is what matters, and...

I had the pleasure of dining at Zalat Pizza and decided to try their Zelato pizza. From the first bite, it was clear that this was no ordinary pizza. The crust was perfectly crispy yet tender, providing a delightful base for the toppings. The rich, savory tomato sauce balanced beautifully with the generous portions of mozzarella and the fresh ingredients.

The star of the Zelato pizza, however, was the creative combination of toppings. The blend of flavors was both bold and harmonious, making each bite an explosion of taste. The ingredients were fresh and high-quality, which made all the difference.

We ordered a standard pepperoni and 3 9". The price on the minis was good, high on the standard for what you get. All the pizzas, including the standard, are more like snacks. Minimal bread/sauce/cheese, very light weight. Some creative options though with vegan cheese, pho-like flavors.

But the real issue is delivery. Don't do delivery from this place. After going through the most of the ordering process they tell you it's not recommended. And imply to over tip so that dashers will pickup the job. There's a $5 delivery charge, so i tipped $9-10 for a 3 mile delivery to a single family. The order was delivered after 1.5 hours. There was very little communication from delivery

Recommend the restaurant be more transparent about the delivery up front. Maybe charge a higher fee if necessary to ensure service. Instead of us guessing how much to tip. Cold thin pizza...
