Tikka House Express — Restaurant in Austin

I work at Insomnia right across the street, and I am always looking for local food. I decided to try Tikka House Express after seeing all the time and energy that the new management put into this pre-existing location. All new everything! Completely revamped 💯. I was very excited watching it all come together. Now....I will be the first to tell you, I am NOT a very cultured individual, and I had never actually had tikka masala before yesterday ( 7/20/2025 ). However, I can tell when something smells delicious in my proximity, and as a delivery "driver" who rides a scooter all over Austin, I smell A LOT of food. I was enticed by the aroma of authentic Indian food right across the street and thought I had to try it. Definitely worth my time. Everyone on shift got into my food! The combo meals were a great value, with generous portions of the entrée and a side of rice, and included a serving of super fresh naan bread! Great flavors, textures on point, and they DID NOT SKIMP OUT ON THE CHICKEN! Like so many establishments around campus do. I tell you folks......if you were hesitant, don't be. Quite a good Indian place in West Campus! I got their butter paneer combo (which is curry + naan + rice), and it tasted good. Wouldn’t say it’s the most authentic in the world, but it’s MUCH better than anything else nearby.

Great service, the guy running the truck is very friendly. There is some seating outside, but it’s limited. It’s worth a try, and I’ll definitely be going back to try some of the other things...

Me and my boyfriend stumbled upon this food truck while we were walking and were drawn in by the delicious smell and lively music they were playing. We got the palak paneer and chicken tikka masala and we loved it so much! Very flavorful and the rice that came with it was very soft and delicious! Also the man cooking the food and the cashier were very nice and provided excellent service!...
