Food was terrible, Kung Pow had some kind of tomato based that was nothing to do with Kung Pow. Was trying to eat while the next two tables over had a church service. No a whole church service with music, preaching, and not quite either. Was just myself and this group. Had no consideration for others, and the restaurant did nothing about it. Would not recommend or go back. Addition: Made the previous while sitting at the table. Went to pay. Check was $18.36 on their ticket. Lady charged me 19 even. I was so dumbfounded and upset I didn't want to argue and just leave. Watch you checks here too I guess.

Asked my daughter's boyfriend his favorite food "Chinese " Where else would I take him to for the best homemade Chinese food in town. Fresh never pre-made Made from scratch Wonderful family restaurant Ming's Cafe is certainly worth turning off of 18th street onto L for a much deserved special treat! Below: BBQ Egg Foo Yong with Fried Rice and I asked for extra gravy! Asked for it special! Yummm!

My father and I tried Ming's Cafe at lunch for the first time today. Walking in, there was only 1 other customer in the restaurant which was a bit unnerving. Bad food? Bad service? Poor health department ratings? Nope. I think this one just slipped under the radar over time.

The menu serves some classic American dishes such as Baby Beef Liver and Onion but of course also has delicious Chinese such as Kung Pao Chicken and Beef and Broccoli. The later two dishes I've tried already -- compelled to order Chinese at a Chinese restaurant! I'm looking forward to trying the Beef Liver but simultaneously anxious because low volume kitchens don't always have the freshest meats, especially with something like liver.

Service was of course very personal; we had a lovely chat with the hostess who seemed like the (co?)owner and doubled as our server. Looking forward to trying it out for a dinner service.

I'll update this if I try more menu items (and remember to...

I used to eat here before the remodel and today came back after a 15 year hiatus. The food is still good at a great price. The Chinese food is well sized for the price and tastes about 55% close to the street food i used to eat in beijing when i was hunting down Triads with interpol. 55% aint bad in my book and hell i even eat 5 star places like craft steak Las Vegas or Tao but...... Mings......yeah is good to just to hear Mrs. Ming herself talk your ears off.”.....you dont get that from a French waiter! Im definitely making her a character in my movie when ever my dirctor gigs pulls through. The Burger is actually fresh.... not like “i just killed the steer fresh”.....but more along the lines of “i bought the chuck this morning.” Any whoo i love the tacky decore...

Nice owners - but the food is scary. When they asked about our dishes I did not want to be confrontational but yet I wanted to be truthful. I told them the soup was not good - it had no seasoning and it was lukewarm at best. The Kung pow chicken and mushroom chicken was anything but. The chow mein looked to be recycled along with the vegetables on the plate and the rice was cold. But our moment of desperation arrived when the cook attempted to explain that the specials we ordered was the cheapest dish on the menu and was not the best of food choices because of price. Shocking. The AC was out - the place is empty and We will not be returning. Consume at your own risk as for me I’m going to the...
