Blanco's was quite a great time. I came in on a Friday night and it was bustling.
The first thing I noticed was that the DJ was doing his thing--the music was amazing (though on the louder side so you may have to ask companions to repeat themselves).
Also of note was the service. The waiter noticed that our table was rickety and placed a stopper beneath it, our drinks stayed filled, and, with each course coming out more slowly than we expected, communicated clearly about the delays.
The food was mostly good. The salmon and pasta were presented well though it felt like they were less than the sum of their parts. Some creole seasoning would've made the pasta incredible.
The tomato soup (soup of the day) was savory and hearty while the spinach salad was perfection. The ingredients complemented one another quite well and the dressing was heavenly.
We didn't get a chance to try out their bread pudding (we'd heard great things) but the brownie was outstanding.
I will most certainly come...
Read moreWish I took pictures and videos, but let me tell you....one word...."EXCELLENT!" I ordered the catfish tenders with the chipotle tartar sauce and French fries (highly recommended) . My dad had the BBQ shrimp and it was so good he tried to analyze the sauce to replicate it at home . My mom had the garden salad with the grilled chicken protein option and it was made with love. Our server Thomas was very attentive, relatable and knowledgeable. He gave us a tour of the restaurant after we ate and the restaurant is beautiful, quaint and swanky. They have two bars and a VIP area. Definitely a Baltimore gem. Though I am not from the area I will be returning. I did not catch the bartender nor the Chefs name, but I hope if they see this post they add their names because the food and service was A1. The restaurant is black owned by the way! "Aye Thomas, keep promoting man, I wish you nothing but the best on your journey brother. Thanks for...
Read moreEdit, taking a star off because the prices have gone up while food quality has gone WAY down. The "jerk" chicken cheesesteaks we ordered last night were barely edible: made with scrap parts of the chicken, greasy/oily, and didn't even taste like actual jerk. I hate to waste food but couldn't even eat the other half. It was great during restaurant week but not anymore.
Half of the mussels I ordered were not even open and this not safe/edible. Complete waste of money!
Tasty food, unique menu, warm service and great vibes! What's not to like? We love to see Black-owned businesses thriving 🤩 Try the curry chicken spinach dip and the...
