So for a place with name like that 2 things to be expected: music and food. I'll start with food. Food is surprisingly good as I was expecting basics and got carefully structured dishes with lots of flavor and character. Appetizers were all on the spot and very good. Meatballs I expected more. But pasta was exceptional. Too much salt, but texture and taste of a homemade pasta. So the food is definately 4 stars.
Now on to music... Italian Disco or as many knew Italo Disco along with Eurodance run the world in 80's. I was so looking forward to hearing that again. But instead I got an ear full of some boring 70's/80's and even some current songs. What a shame. I seriously doubt that DJ even knows what is Italian Disco. In fact, host had no clue and told me that they just play 70'/80's music. So call it Oldies Disco and do not insult Italian. Music. 2 Stars for entertainment. With that music place pretty much unsurprisingly cleared by 11:10pm on Saturday night.
Get real DJs that play real Italo and Euro Disco and you got something no other place has. Food is already there.
And for those that think the place is too loud, why don't you eat dinner at restaurant that does not have "Disco" in their...
Read morenot great, not awful. i did not try the pizza as it appeared to be too much for me to eat during this visit, so maybe i will update this review if i decide to go a 2nd time.
anyway, i ordered the buffalo chicken sandwhich, with french fries (which costs $3 extra..... this will come in later). aside from taking 30+ minutes, with 8 staff (that i could see) serving the 10 customers (that i could see, 5 of which were sitting at the bar), the taste of the food was about what id expect from a corner deli. this plate, before tax, cost $16..... and i can think of a better way to spend $16 than at this place. the sandwhich was dressed to the 9's and piled so high that a fork & knife was necessary.... but the bun was obviously stale even before they toasted it, and the fries that i paid $3 extra for were covered in what appeared to be parm. and some greens..... but were cold and soppy (grease soppy.... because they're "hand cut" without being cooked fresh). additionally, the fries looked to be "whatever is left", judging by their size (we all know what the bottom of the chip bag looks like right?)
like i said.... maybe ill update this if i give it a 2nd go, but...
Read moreWonderful location and atmosphere and really good pizza!!! We had 3 different kinds and they were all very good, our favourite was "spicy vodka". Good prices for food as well.
Lowered the rating for the lack of communication and service. We came in for the happy hour and being a group / family of 4 just sat down wherever was available - sign said "please seat yourself"; waited good 10-15 minutes to get the menus and someone noticing us.
Started ordering and the communication with the server was so confusing - turns out only certain tables and the bar was happy hour. Not complaining about the server, nice guy and he was almost uncomfortable at silly rules of the restaurant. How are people, especially our of town would know this?
Soooo - goo food but it's like they really don't care if you come back and cater to locals who know what to do - just keep that in mind. Otherwise great atmosphere, good...
