I first visited this restaurant earlier in the year for Monday steak night. Service was great, food was great, atmosphere was nice so I kept it in my portfolio of places to try again! Fast forward to today I went for happy hour around 5:30 and I was beyond disappointed. Service was very slow, food was good, atmosphere was a tad unsettling. We sat at the bar however I’m not sure if the bar was too much for the bartender to manage because the service was slower than a turtle running a race. Truly, the service was the slowest I have witnessed in a very long time. We had to wait to order drinks, wait to receive regular customer service, wait and ask to get the check, etc. I ordered 2 drinks and an appetizer all that sat there the entirety of my time at Unity (as you can see in the picture). The bartender never took anything from our area until I questioned her about the check. When the check came we were charged regular price for wine and with the lack of service I couldn’t believe that another thing was going wrong. When we questioned the waiter she said we asked for all the wine, not just happy hour wine. That was a false statement. We asked for what was included on happy hour. Even if it was not included as a staff member wouldn’t you say fyi this one isn’t included in happy hour? I then asked for the manager from 2 different people, we were told ā€œhe’s here, but busyā€ . I am assuming the manager came however he never spoke to us, or even attempted to give customer service to us patrons, just went to the computer and discounted the wine. I was ready to have an open conversation with the manager because as I said I was pleased the first time I came. This was beyond disappointing that customer service could be this subpar. Looking back I can’t even fault the bartender because she is learning from her Manager and he simply did not care. The food is not worth, the slow , nonexistent customer service.

Prefix: I come from being an avid 'night on the town / hitting the scenes in NY' and I dine out most of the time. I always keep an open mind going places. And didn't want to give less than 4 stars for a new business but the staff and service were just 😐 😩... As entrepreneurs ourselves, my friend and I gave a LOT of grace.

Starting with the good, cute location and the atmosphere was lively. Great music and nice vibe. Love that there was security (Hey Big Steel). But that's where it ends.

No hostess so there was confusion among the staff about the wait time. We didn't trip and sat at the bar for dinner and drinks. Unfortunately, we weren't attended to until asking someone twice and 25 minutes later.

The RosƩ slushy drink wasn't good, tasted like medicine (pre-made in a machine). No biggie - nicely asked the Bartender to switch it out she did without push back. Had the Strawberry Hennessey, very good!

Now onto when things went completely left...My homegirl ordered the salmon BLT and I sliders. It took a while for her food to arrive but it was busy so we didn't complain. BUT only her food came, my sliders fell into some kind of abyss.

We waited additional time in hopes the sliders would arrive, the didn't - we informed our waitress. She went to the kitchen, returned and said it was being plated. Because we were sitting at the bar, we could see when food was ready. We saw what should have been my sliders until a different waiter took and served them to someone else's table. We informed the Bartender and Waitress who both approached the waiter letting him know those sliders were not for the table, he shrugged his shoulders.

Really dude? LOL By this time it was WELL over an hour for an appetizer and you shrug your shoulders? #wow

Our waitress apologized (wish I had her name, she was the only professional in this situation) and said she put in a new order. 30 minutes later my homegirl finished her food, and we watched 3 separate takeout orders get fulfilled and my sliders never came out.

We got the bill and bounced, I was starving which was unfortunate. I went...

Went for brunch for the first time and the food was pretty good. About halfway through the meal, we saw a roach crawling on the table. We immediately swatted it to the floor and stomped it, and decided that we were done with the meal, less than halfway through. When we told the waitress, she said ā€˜ok’ and went to the back. A few minutes later, she emerged and went about her business. We called her back to ask if someone was going to sweep the dead roach, and if we could speak with a manager. After the bug was swept up, the manager came over to our table. We told him that a roach was crawling on the table, and his response was ā€˜I don’t know where that came from. We have a pest inspection every month.ā€ Seeing the perplexed look on our face in response to our ā€˜we don’t know where it came from either’, he I went to brunch for the first time at this establishment, and the food was pretty good initially. However, about halfway through the meal, we noticed a roach crawling on our table. We immediately swatted it to the floor and stomped on it. At that point, we decided we were done with the meal, even though we’d barely eaten half.

When we informed the waitress, she simply said ā€œOKā€ and walked to the back. A few minutes later, she returned and continued her duties as if nothing had happened. We had to call her back to ask if someone could sweep up the dead roach and if we could speak with a manager. After the roach was finally removed, the manager came over.

We explained what had happened, and his response was, ā€œI don’t know where that came from. We have a pest inspection every month.ā€ When we replied, ā€œWe don’t know where it came from either,ā€ he looked at us, shrugged, and said, pejoratively, ā€œYou want a discount?ā€

Without offering any apology, he added a 10% discount to our check. Needless to say, this is the first and last time I’ll be visiting this place., pejoratively, ā€œyou want a discount?ā€ He placed a 10% discount on our check. Not an apology in sight. This is the first and last time I’ll patronize this...
