Testa's Restaurant is located along Main Street. It's located about 300 yards from the tendering pier, but you do have to go up a pretty steep hill. It's at the same location where we took our tour to Acadia National Park with Acadia National Park Tours. We came in here for lunch after the tour on October 2, 2019.

Once we came in, I realized the coupon from the tour got lost during the trip. The host said to just tell your server and the discount will still be applied, which it was at the end. The place was somewhat busy, and that was likely due to those of us that came via cruise ships. We were then seated and had a moment to look over the menu before our server came over. We weren't ready to order yet, but we did get Old Soaker Root Beer to drink, which is a local root beer in Bar Harbor, which was good. It came in a bottle, so there were no free refills on that of course. A few minutes later, our server came over and we were ready to order.

After looking over the menu, we decided to go with different versions of the Lobster Roll entrees. I went with the BLT Lobster Roll and my mom went with The Capt. Colie Lobster Roll. About five to ten minutes later, our orders came to the table. The lobster rolls also came with homemade chips. The lobster rolls were good. When you first look at them, it looks small, but they are packed with quite a bit of lobster. The taste was good as well. For me, it was a good size in the end, and held me over until dinner later that evening on the Disney Magic cruise ship.

Overall, this was a good experience here. The one thing I think they could improve is have a few more servers when it was busy like that. Our server wasn't around as much as he was also in the upstairs portion of the restaurant too. Pricing was a bit higher than expected, but it is an area that is definitely off the beaten path. Definitely not close to any interstate. In the end, food was good and service was good given the circumstances. I would definitely come back if I am in the area again in the future. If your travels take you this way, this place is worth checking out. They offer breakfast (until 11 am),...

They bait and switch with the menus… they don’t state on their posted menus outside the restaurant that one menu is their lunch menu… we almost left because none of the stuff we wanted was on the dinner menu, since the one we looked at up front was their Lunch menu but wasn’t even marked as so… thankfully they still let us order from the lunch menu… but that was after we got back up and tried to leave before the server showed up…they need to mark the menus better.

Service is meh. Yes, waiter was super friendly, but they literally disappear after you receive your food and never check on you again until you’ve finished your meal and have been waiting another 10 minutes just for the check. When I was a server 20 years ago, I always made sure to check on all my tables at least 3 times… before they started eating their food, during the meal in case they need anything else, and then dessert/check time… none of that happened. I was left thirsty and without anything to drink while i tried to finish my food…

The worst part of all:

It was absolutely DISGUSTING that they sat us outside, UNDER the second floor deck. NO KIND OF UMBRELLA OR AWNING OVER US… i kept watching stuff from the deck upstairs fall down near my food and drink while eating my food… if you don’t want crap from people’s shoes falling into your food, do NOT eat outside… this is not sanitary. Gross. That has to be some kind of health code violation.

Just another tourist trap restaurant that cares more about making money than they care about sanitation, or the customers they...

I tried to call this place to make a reservation at 9:15pm for 5 people as my team and I get off work at 9pm, and the lady on the phone kept trying to make a reservation for 15 people at 9pm. I'm totally considerate of any language barriers and understand the difficulties of trying to understand people over the phone as I've worked customer service before, but after trying about 5 times to say "No, 5 people at 9:15pm" very patiently she hung up on me. When I got off work, I walked over and asked if they had actually taken down my reservation and they had not. So, again I asked for a reservation for the following night for 5 people at 9:15pm, and it took her about 10 minutes to figure out how to do it on the tablet. The following night while dining there, all of the staff seemed annoyed by us being there (we were not being disruptive or loud at all), they were not friendly or helpful to my group, they got multiple items wrong when they brought the food out, and our server never came back for us to even try to get it corrected or top off any of our drinks until he brought the check out. 0/5 experience with any of the staff. However, the food is some of the best food I've had all summer living here. I got the coconut shrimp and the fried lobster tacos and luckily my food actually came out right and both were 10/10. Loved the food, just wish we would've encounter at least one pleasant or helpful worker during our...

So we visited Acadia Bar Harbor for the long weekend. We absolutely loved the place and tried the local food around the place. One place we had saved was Testa’s. We went for dinner but we did not get the table after, so we decided to give it a try on the other day for lunch and this time we had reserved the table. This restaurant is absolutely amazing with the ambiance and food it deserves 5+ stars. We order some cocktails to start with - we did not like any cocktails we ordered they were not at all refreshing. I hope they improve their bar menu. For appetisers we ordered Yum Yum fried Lobster Coconut Shrimp our way These two appetisers were absolutely delicious, Specially the sauce they severed with shrimp was blueberry chilli sauce, we were amazed with this combination. A MUST TRY For entree’s- Main Street Lobster Taco Shrimp Tacos Haddock Sandwich All of these entree’s were delicious we ordered 2 lobsters tacos. Also, the Shrimp tacos were fantastically yummy they server char grilled shrimps in tacos which we loved. And here comes the highlight - For dessert we ordered Blueberry pie and Blueberry Cheesecake OMG, I have never tasted such a wonderful flavourful Blueberry Pie with the House-made Vanilla Ice-cream ....Recommend this 100% My overall experience was amazing the price of dish are justified for what they serve. The food presentation is also very good. I would definitely visit this place again.

Food was yummy but service was terrible. Cassidy was our waitress and she was sweet when she first waited on us. Someone else brought our food. She didn’t check on us and asked how our food was until I flagged her down for ketchup for the kids. Not once did she come and check in and ask us for a refill or if we needed anything. Again had to flag her down and asked her specifically for more water and a glass for my partner. She came back dropped a bottle of water down and no glass. Waited maybe 15 min again flagged her down and asked her again for a glass so he could drink water. His food was spicy. Water was needed. We weren’t even done yet and she dropped the bill down at which point I was beyond frustrated with her lack of service. I asked her do you have a dessert menu. Shouldn’t she have asked us if we wanted dessert? Terrible service! Ok we ordered two desserts and waited forever!! We noticed the table to the far right of us was also frustrated as they had been waiting forever for their one dessert. She came back with a revised bill for me to pay and I asked her how much longer on the dessert? She said kitchen was behind and she had no timeframe. Assuming it was manager that brought them out. No apology for delay. Long story short…terrible customer service but great food!
