I have always loved Panera, and always go to this one when I'm in town. Went today and it will be my last. First of all I know they've had a problem were there real cream cheese. I was told that the 1st of June they would be starting again with another brand of real cream cheese I asked the young lady if her cream cheese was cream cheese spread or real cream cheese as I did not want the spread. She tells me no it's the real cream cheese, I order and everything bagel toasted well. What I got was it toasted on both sides not inside only like 98% of the other Panera do. I was told by the manager they cannot adjust their toaster oven to to toast on one side only. I also order an iced coffee. I go get my ice and come back to the coffee section and I pour in my cup what I thought was coffee and it looked very weak as ice coffee is usually very dark, I tasted it it was sweet tea. I asked the girl where her ice coffee was she informed me that they no longer do iced coffee and she was sorry she didn't inform me of that. That if I wanted iced coffee I needed to use the roasted dark coffee. So she hands me my toasted Bagel well toasted inside and out wood burns the sesame's on it the cream cheese she gives me is the cream cheese spread and they have no iced coffee. When I showed her that it said cream cheese spread she's as well the one I picked up was plain cream cheese without it saying spread and I said so when I told you I didn't want the spread why did you give me the spread. Her response I don't know. I'm done never...
Read moreI know how good panera CAN be because I’ve been to the Ashland location. I’d give them 6 stars (if I could) all day, every day. Staff? Friendly. Inside? Always attended to. Service? Great. Food? AMAZING. At one point, we used to eat it for almost every lunch and/or dinner when we lived closer to the Ashland Town Center. Came to this location with my husband today, and the warmth of the employees were severely lacking. Probably because they’re understaffed; I’m not exactly sure. The managers on duty in the Ashland know us by name, and always seek to connect with us; I don’t even think the manager here made eye contact. Eating at this location made me realize why some people say, “Panera is way over priced, and it’s not even THAT good”. The bread on my sandwich, that I get every time I go to Panera, was hard as a rock, my sandwich was cold, and they left the sauce off of it (or put so little, there appeared to be none). The tables were not clean, and it was evident no-one had any intention in wiping them off. Whereas, at the Ashland location, someone is always stationed in the eating area to wipe off tables, make customer connections, and offer to take anything off our hands before our meal is even over. If this were first trip to Panera and only experience or Panera, it would be my last. Save your money, and run to the Ashland Panera for a better experience, or hop on...
Read moreI usually enjoy going to Panera at the Mall. Recently, however, the service and other aspects of the restaurant seem to have dropped off a bit. We arrived and, although the manager and another employee were standing there and saw us, they did not come to the unmanned register to take our order. We waited several minutes until someone finally came out and took our order. I ordered soup and it was tasty and ready in a very reasonable amount of time. The soup, however, was just warm at best. When mentioned it to the staff we were told that they're all set at the same temperature. No offer to make it better or put it in the microwave (if that was a possibility). So I had Luke warm soup. Also the music used to be nice quiet instrumental music. You could go there and hold a reasonable conversation. Now the music is some sort of pop genre that is played so loud that it is hard to have a comfortable conversation. It would be nice if ALL restaurants went to instrumental music. I don't go out to eat to be entertained by the piped in music. I go out to enjoy a meal w/ family and friends and be able to converse w/o having to raise my voice. The food is good, it's just not hot and the service has seemed to have slipped from what...
