On Sunday, July 13th, at approximately 6:30 p.m., my husband and I dined at the Tops BBQ located in Bartlett. The food was excellent, and so was the staff. I can't express how much I love the new quesadilla; you really need to experience the brisket one. While we were present, a sizable crowd was ahead of us. Initially, they were well behaved. However, one woman in the group started to bother the staff regarding a cheeseburger. The barbecue was ready first, and they were currently focused on preparing the cheeseburger. The employees were really friendly, yet she came to them with the most unpleasant attitude. Next, she announced to the group that they "want for me to act like a Karen." This lady also proceeded to yell loudly at the children in the restaurant who were actually behaving. Zero self-awareness for others. The team demonstrated a strong sense of professionalism and consistently focused on fulfilling her requests. Throughout the whole duration, they kept smiling. I found it to be an excellent practice in managing self-discipline. Once the large group departed, we enjoyed a pleasant chat with a woman who was employed there. Her kindness shone through as she mentioned that you can never really tell what challenges others might be facing in their lives, so it's best to just offer a smile. The truth of those words is undeniable. When it comes to customer service, surprises are always around the corner. Although it's often said that the customer is always right, that doesn't imply their behavior is always appropriate. Going to a restaurant and exercising patience goes a long way when you can tell the staff is working hard. It really angers me to see people in customer service being treated with such disrespect and it's only because the customer is entitled. I believe the team did an excellent job, and I feel a sense of pride in their efforts. Clearly, this group didn’t come from Memphis. I simply wanted to...
Read moreMy husband and I are traveling and are try restaurants we have never tried before. So with the suggestion of a lady we met she suggested TOPS. I placed the order online, paid for the order and was given a 3 digit number and to allow 15 minutes. I did so. We went through drive through that was very slow and long. So we get to the window and tell the young man we had a pick up.he ask name. I wasn’t ask for my name. I gave home $$. He said it wasn’t paid for. I assured him it was. He closed the window and brought back another worker. We went through the process and she stated they didn’t have pick up orders. I told her placed order on line. OH you have to come inside for that. Needless to say I’m confused and aggravated. I pull around and go inside. She ask if I’m Door Dash!! I t old her no. She went over order. She assured me it was correct. Upon arriving home……….you guessed it. No slaw on my sandwich, I ordered a large TOPS with all the fixings’ and received a plan pulled pork sandwich, but was charged the extra 1.20. Frank and Sassy split a whole rack of Sweet BBQ ribs that were cold, dry and tough, no sauce for extra as requested. I asked for 1/2 and 1/2 ice tea and Franks usual Coke. We received a cherry coke and a sweet tea. So $43.60 later. We are all disgusted, Sassy ate Turkey, I ate butter and crackers and Frank at Turkey Sanwich, Take you Millington for the worst experience possible. I waited two days and I still have a bad taste...
Read moreI really dont like to do this but hope if i do write this review it might help. Waiting to place my to go order from the front counter, outside line slow, inside was my option. Wrong...person taKing orders was very uncoordinated. He Was having to take food to taBles as well as take orders, so the people at the counter ordering were left waiting. When it was my time to order the counter person was doing other things and not at the counter. The lady at the window came over to take my order. Right in the middle of me ordering she saw another customer get up to open a bottle of sauce. She stopped taKing my order, walked away to speak with the dine in customer. She then went back to the window. She finally came back to finish my order after taking another at the window. People in line behind me were as surprised as I when she walked away mid order. Then the other counter worker started delivering dine in orders to persons that came in after me. I saw my order on the cook line. I ask him if that happened to be my my to go order. He then bagged mine with a slight attitude. It took me over 30 minutes for a sandwich meal and nachos. Food was less than desirable. Did not taste good at all. This stores quality is no where close to how Top's Memphis reputation is. If all the stores are like this they will be closing. Saving grace to this is the Sunday church crowd was there to eat. BTW...will NOT BE GOING BACK TO GIVE THIS STORE ANY...
