Best bar in Baton Rouge, hands down! Mother’s Lounge is more than just a bar — it’s a whole experience. The cocktails are creative, strong, and beautifully crafted (seriously, you won’t find a better espresso martini in town). Mother’s strikes the perfect balance between classy and comfortable, with cozy lighting, great music, and an effortlessly inclusive vibe.

The staff and ownership are the heart of the place — Montanna and Trent go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and seen. Whether you’re flying solo or rolling deep with friends, you’ll feel like part of the family by your second drink.

And then there’s the drag. Phenomenal. The queens bring it every single time — fun, fierce, and full of talent. It’s one of the few spots in the city where the LGBTQ+ community and allies can come together and truly let loose.

Mother's Lounge is the best bar downtown by far! The atmosphere is always great, and the staff never fails to impress. The upstairs and downstairs bars are clean and visibly taken care of; and the outside patio is a cozy place to end the night regardless of the weather. You will struggle to find better drinks anywhere in Baton Rouge and yet they still find the time to rotate the menu, while serving food deserving of a Michelin star or two!

Mother's Lounge boasts some of the most fun events downtown. Drag shows, DJ's, and Karaoke have kept me coming back every time.

They somehow manage to do all of that while making you feel safe. The bouncers truly care about everyone and will not hesitate remove someone causing trouble or help someone get an Uber home. This place fills a desperately needed role in the area: a lounge-type bar for the queer community. There's a small dance floor and a stage, but there are also cushioned chairs and a quiet(er) upstairs for sitting to chat. It drips ELEGANCE in it's decorations.

The food is delicious, but you don't get very large servings from what I've seen. They're meant to be lil appetizers. The drinks are Delicious, and it's worth trying each one of their specialty cocktails.

On the Grand Opening night, it got pretty stuffy. The AC couldn't keep up with the open doors and TONS (packed like sardines) of people. I think a few fans to circulate the air inside would do wonders for the main room. Not an issue at ALL on less busy nights. I'm 100% sure they'll fix it, if their attention to detail says anything.
