During my recent visit to Applebee's in Baxter, MN, I had the pleasure of enjoying the blackened salmon, paired with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. Talked with our server about happy hour specials (drinks AND apps). The server recommended the perfect margarita with chips and the new loaded waffle fries as examples for the special. Again, I made it very clear I was looking for HAPPY HOUR SPECIALS, and neither of these recommendations were included, something I was not aware of until I received my bill. People around us (that were seated after we put in our order) continued to receive their appetizers and meals while we sat and waited for over an hour. When these things were brought up to employees, they apologized and said there was nothing they could do about the misleading information I received while placing my order, and that the wait time was contributed to the overwhelming amount of people to serve. The wait time could have been easily forgiven IF meals were served in order. Instead of others being served within 20 minutes of ordering (AFTER US) and it taking ours 75 minutes. Incredibly disappointing. Not to mention the burnt meat on the prime rib sandwich and substituting the typical half plate of French fries, for a $2 up charge, to receive FIVE onion rings. 09/02/2022 I had ordered "to go." My server Jakub did a great job dealing with the rush they had. He apologized for something that was not in his control. Granted I could've been upset over the fact I was waiting over 25 minutes past my original pick up time set by online ordering, but I felt no need. Instead I watched the area from the designated parking spots as this young man hurried to vehicles not in the designated locations. Jakub did a great job making sure vehicles were found and serviced. He stopped by once early on in my wait to see the order we were picking up and hurried off. He came back after several vehicles later, my guess door dash drivers, and asked again, I chuckled and responded and of he went again to shortly arrive with a partial compete order. He offered some fries and a soda while we waited a bit more and that was a nice treat. Rushed back with those small items apologetic and rushed off again. Long story I know, but the last occurrence with Jakub was him delivering the last bit of our food. I thanked him for doing a great job all while staying level-headed. Gave him a 20% tip and spoke with the MOD about what I had witnessed. Keep up...
