Captain D's — Restaurant in Baytown

Very disappointed with this Captain D's. They have a sign outside with Lunch special's. I asked the cashier guy what their lunch specials were. He looked at me like he didn't know what I was talking about, so I just ordered the four-piece fish dinner with an extra fish. They don't have Captain D's where I'm from, so I'm trying to get my Captain D's fixed while I'm here in Baytown Texas. When my husband and I were there this past Sunday during lunch, I told them that I hadn't had Captain D's in over a year and I was hoping that it would be hot and fresh. What I got was not hot fish. my baked potato was not hot. butter I put on it didn't even melt. Surprised this Captain D's is still open. When I went there the first time which was March 17th, they had gobs of napkins balancing the tables. Mind you this was on the 17th of March, like I said I need to get my fix while I'm here. I went back the next day Saturday the 18th, napkins still underneath the table balancing the table. Today is March 20th, I went there for lunch. I was very surprised with how many people were actually in this Captain D's. Saying that it was no surprise, that my lunch was hot and fresh. Fish was hot baked potato wonderful butter melted my hush puppies were even hot. Not sure why these people can't go to the Dollar Tree down the road, and buy some little round things that they sell there that they can put on the bottom of the table to balance it. Instead of having gobs of napkins underneath where it looks just tacky. I am here for at least another week I will probably eat a Captain D's 6 days out of that week. I hope this Captain D's does not go out of business. But it wouldn't surprise me if it does, because it looks like the people that own it or on the franchise to it. Don't really care about what it looks...

I usually don't have issues at this location when its just a quick pick up in the drive thru. However, on Saturday, January 22, 2022 I was going to start my shift as a lyft rideshare driver and wanted something quick to eat. I ordered one piece of fish and a large gumbo. I previously had the small gumbo and it was a little salty but tasty. I paid for my food and had to wait an extended period of time and then it was ready. I pulled away and tried the fish which was hot as usual. I opened the gumbo and i had the app on and i tasted it and it was ice cold. I dont know if it was frozen and they had to reheat it in the microwave but it was disgusting. I had a ride to pick up in pasadena so I could not go back to the drive thru. So i thought that i could call them since i was just there. NO ONE ANSWERED AFTER 3 CALLS. Horrible customer service and the fact that I spent $9.21 for a hot piece of fish is deplorable since the gumbo was ice cold. No one has money to waste, especially with time constraints since I drive all over the houston area. It would have been nice to know that they microwave this item and it...

It's not good. It is technically edible, but you'll be wishing you were at ljs the whole time. The food desperately needs to be reevaluated by the company. The fish is O.K. if it is properly breaded, and it has that familiar fried fish taste from ljs. The problem is that sometimes the breading to fish ratio is as much as 3 to 1. That's 3 times the volume of breading than fish.. it's supposed to cover the fish, not encapsulate it like a fossil in dirt. When I got the fish like that I couldn't eat it. The hush-puppies and tartar sauce are pretty good, the rest of the sides do not deserve positive remarks.

Come on guys you're the only fast food fish place in this area of BAYTOWN for like 15 miles except restaurants and this is the standard you want to set? You could have people around the corner lined up for good fried fish here because there's no one else, but your parking lot is going to stay bare if you keep doing what your doing. Is this place...
