Mitchell's Ice Cream (Beachwood Shop) — Restaurant in Beachwood

I wish we could’ve given all five stars but we were very disappointed when the staff was cleaning up the entire dining area and leaning the chairs against the tables so that no patrons could enjoy their ice cream inside tonight when it was dark, cold and windy outside at 9pm! The store still had 30 mins of operating hours and a full line of customers. I can understand wanting to start cleaning up and preparing to close, but not welcoming your patrons the use of the provided dining area in the evening (when we drove 30 mins specifically to meet there for ice cream) was very poor customer service. Everyone loved the taste and quality of their ice cream, the employees scooping our ice cream and cashing us out were friendly and efficient, and the affordability was appreciated as well, BUT - unfortunately - I can’t justify a FIVE STAR review due to being forced to enjoy our ice...

I've been to this location several times since recently moving to Cleveland. It's a great ice cream shop - there is a ton of selection, the prices are good, the staff are always friendly and helpful, and the flavors I've tried have all been great. As some have mentioned, it's a bit pricey if you just get standard fare (i.e. two scoops of vanilla is going to cost $5.50), but you're paying for the tons of different choices available, so getting something a bit outside of the box is a better option... Most of their specialty sundaes (which contain more ice cream than anyone probably should eat in one sitting, lol) is $5.50, which isn't bad at all. The only recommendation I have is that the specialty sundaes should come in a 'small' (one-scoop) size for maybe $1 less - when my wife and I go, we end up splitting one (and having to decide which one to get) since the portions are...

This would be a zero if it were possible. I went to this location and questioned if their vanilla ice cream contained eggs since I did not see ingredients displayed before ordering. I proceeded to ask the young lady taking my order if indeed the ice cream contained eggs, she gave me a lackadaisical response “I think”….I kindly asked her to check for certain due to my egg allergy. Another young lady provided a book that contained ice cream that was free of eggs. After making my selection, she indicated oh that one will likely have been cross contaminated. In this day and time with many food allergies, businesses should be more responsible than this company that has received such great reviews.
