horrible. worse than mediocre.
the fact that this place has over 4* on Maps is absolutely mind boggling.
I remember coming here many years ago and I forgot what I even ordered but I remember it wasn't great. but I thought I'd give it another chance. what a mistake.
we ordered the fried cauliflower, lamb shawarma platter, and a falafel wrap.
nothing was good.
the fried cauliflower was probably the best part, but even that had a very strong oily/greasy sort of taste and texture. B- at best.
the falafel wasn't horrible, but the taste just wasn't there. just bland and sad. C+.
and then the shawarma. holy Christ this was bad. I don't know if Lebanese shawarma is different from other shawarma, but if it's like this, I feel sorry for the entire population of Lebanon. all other lamb shawarma I've had has been nice and tender with a rich flavor. this one was the complete opposite. the meat was incredibly chewy and gristly and had hardly any flavor. I'm not going to say it was completely inedible, but it was damn close. the hummus tasted like generic supermarket hummus, and the rice was probably the only decent part of the entire dish. just shameful, honestly. a D at best.
thank God I bought my meal here with a coupon so that the pain of eating this meal was lessened a bit.
absolutely never...
Read moreI recently purchased falafel from your establishment and while it wasn't the worst, there are several areas for improvement. Here are my observations and suggestions:
-Bread Choice: I recommend using Arabic bread instead of Mexican bread for a more authentic taste. -Falafel Quality: The falafel lacked freshness and was overly greasy, missing the desired crispness. -Pickles: Please consider using red pickles for added flavor and authenticity. -Vegetable Balance: There was a lack of balance with the vegetables, and the absence of tomato was noticeable. Adding tomato would enhance the overall flavor profile. -Pricing: At $11, the falafel is priced on the higher side. I suggest reducing the price to no more than $8, which would be more reasonable considering the quality and ingredients. -Authenticity: There was a notable absence of Lebanese influence in the sandwich, which could be improved upon for a more authentic experience. -Customer Service: I must commend your customer service team for their friendliness and professionalism. They deserve a solid 5-star rating. I hope you find these comments helpful and consider implementing them to enhance the overall dining experience for your customers. Thank you for your attention to...
Read moreMujadara, roasted cauliflower, baba ganoush and tahini sauce were excellent. Vegetables in the salads were fresh and crisp. The falafel was dry and seemed to have been made from a mix. The hummus was ok. The chicken kabob was dry but tasty. The walnut baklava was good but the top layer lacked syrup. It had a good quantity of nuts. The pistachio baklava was very mediocre but edible. The nuts had a burned appearance and taste and it was dry. Any respectable restaurant in Beirut would likely not have put it for sale. The pita bread was large and chewy but lacked freshness. Probably a C+. Quantities were adequate but I wish they would stop using styrofoam containers to go. The restaurant was warm at 70+ degrees outside. The bathroom had not been cleaned for a while, the paper towel dispenser was empty and the garbage full. Spent $80 without tip on 3 dishes, a side, two deserts and a beer. A little overpriced for the quality of the food, quantity we got and in a restaurant without table service. We had to ask to clean the table where we originally sat. Service was prompt and courteous. Would give them another try in the future but my...
