Absolute garbage. Veggie Grill used to be my favorite place to eat, but ever since Next Level Burger took over, it's gone downhill. Next Level is your typical greedy corporation doing their part in taking advantage of their customers with outrageously high prices and smaller quantities of food.
I ordered the Cali Tempeh Power Bowl that I used to eat all the time, before Next Level ruined everything, and I was horrified to see that the bowl was half the size it used to be. The sauce was also way too salty and barely palatable. Maybe if the bowl had more lettuce and quinoa like it used to, it would've actually been edible.
It's absolutely criminal that Next Level has the audacity to charge customers $20 for garbage. I will never be returning to Veggie Grill and I recommend that others take their service elsewhere. There are plenty of other vegan restaurants in Portland that care about their customers and offer quality food at reasonable prices. They deserve your money and support more than Next Level ever will.
I've added a photo comparison so you can see the comically small portions that Next Level has implemented.
Edit: Next Level had the audacity to reply to my review with their typical corporate nonsense that attempts to placate customer concern whilst also addressing none of the aforementioned concerns. It's still a no for me.
Let it be known that Matt de Gruyer, the CEO of Next Level, is a man whose greed knows no bounds. He has no regard for his customers, only for how big his...

I'm a carnivore at heart but enjoys veggies with my meats
I'm willing to eat the occasional vegan. I found I do best on lean meats and veggies - I went raw vegan for five months but I dragged with no energy all the time. I digress.
Ultimately food is about taste and flavors and tickling my taste buds at the end of the day.
Veggie grill did just that with thier meat-free creations and spin on meatless Mexican food.
Veggie grill wasn't on my radar - but I had an American Express offer for $50 off $50 for any restaurant on the inKind app (also not on my radar). So I figured it was a risk free way to try a new place.
I was thrilled with Más Mexican menu options and delicious combos.
I ordered the Más Nachos, the Loaded Burrito which is on par with Chipotle/ Baja Fresh. I also tried their chips & salsa and Chips & Guac.
The chips were just ok - not spectacular perhaps I got an off batch. Salsas: the Tomatillo (verde sauce) and Guac were great. The mild salsa was just okay. The Diablo was fire but without any real identifiable mexican flavor or (but I finished it). The Tacos look good will have to try next visit.
I also also ordered Santa Fe Chicken sandwich, a Ruben on rye, the Korean kimchi beef bowl. We shaed all the items and the general consensus was excellent...
Read moreTime to update this review. Prior I stated that I semi frequent this place, complaining about the price because the food is always either a hit or a miss for me. Originally, I still recommended this place because it was overall decent vegan food, even if a bit pricey. Original score 4 of 5.
This, unfortunately, has changed, which is why I am updating this review.
The food at this, as well as the Portland location, have gone from hit and miss to downright terrible. Not sure what happened over the past few months, but dang near everything at these locations tasted either rancid or undercooked.
At first, I thought it was just me. Maybe I just had them too much, or my taste buds are changing or something. So I decided to let a handful of friends try my meals. ALL OF THEM said the same thing. Asking if the sauces are spoiled and stating that the fried items are undercooked.
If you are willing to spend the money you would eating here. Consider going to literally any other reputable Vegan/ Plant based restaurant and spending your money there instead.
I am really sad to say that I will not be returning to any Veggie Grills...
