Ordered an oyster Poboy on a Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock. Obviously, almost no one else at the Podski at the time.
20 minutes later, I came by the window to ask kindly what was going on.
The young 20 something in attendance told me they just had a big order, And I got stuck behind it.
The only other group there was a family, including one mother and one father and three little kids. That apparently was the big order in front of me😆
Anyway, after waiting 38 minutes, I got my sandwich. No sides. Just a bun with a couple of tomato slices and some sauce, oh yeah oysters… Well, 2 1/2 one of them was mangled.
Another useless and pathetic example of cuisine in Bend that only someone from California. used to paying 30% more would tolerate.
As for the wait time to pan fry three (I’m sorry 2 1/2) oysters requiring 38 minutes? well, I guess you can draw your own conclusion, but it’s not good.
You get five or six oysters in your PoBoy at Southern Accent, and fries. I think I’ll stick with the Cajuns. Mother...
Read moreMother Shuckers offered excellent food at an extremely reasonable price, one that I would have purchased for double, it was that good!
We ordered the Fish Tots—which were at the top of the menu for a reason, as they were light, perfectly crispy on the outside, not greasy at all, and had the most wonderful blend of various fish flavors—and they came with the most amazing homemade tartar sauce that featured the perfect blend of spices and herbs. We also ordered the Shrimp Po Boy—which had perfectly cooked and seasoned shrimp accompanied by an array of fresh veggies in a soft, not too chewy bun—the Steelhead Tacos—which although only coming with 2, filled our stomachs as if it were 4 or more, and included some of the best steelhead full-stop I have ever tasted—and some oyster shooters—which were extremely fresh and wonderfully balanced with cocktail and horseradish sauce!
The food was exquisite, the service was quick and inviting, and the Podski food truck pod is a wonderful...
Read moreMoving from Veneta OR, I used to drive 40 mins to go get some fresh sea food at the coast. After living in Bend for over a year and a half I had yet to find a seafood place that satisfies my cravings.
But Mother Shuckers did! I have been a few times now since my discovery a few weeks ago. The shrimp scampi? Amazing. The shrimp tacos? DELICIOUS! And don’t get me started on the steelhead chowder… so yummy.
I can’t recommend this food truck enough! I’d prefer it over any of the sit down sea food restaurants. With high crab prices I haven’t gotten to try any of the crab but hoping the prices drop soon to try it out! (Kudos to the owner not purchasing and charging crab at the rates it would be...
