Sushi Note Omakase — Restaurant in Beverly Hills

The evening was pleasant and the staff were knowledgeable, attentive and kind, which made the experience enjoyable. However, the omakase itself fell short for me. Toward the end, we were offered the “option” of repeating some favorites, but it wasn’t made clear that this would add extra charges. Desserts were also presented in a way that suggested multiple items, but only one arrived.

For nearly $1,000, I expected more transparency, larger sushi cuts and at least one dish that really left a lasting impression. Unfortunately, while everything was good, nothing stood out as a true “wow” moment. The complimentary champagne for my girlfriend’s birthday was thoughtful, but it didn’t offset the feeling that the value wasn’t quite there.

I never write reviews, but this was literally an incredible experience - the sushi chefs and the sommelier were amazing, super knowledgeable and passionate about their omakase and beverage offerings. It was really the best sushi I’ve had in LA (and I’ve been to a bunch of the other omakase spots). The tuna, shrimp and caviar, and wagyu pieces were the highlights, but everything was seriously incredible. Reasonable price point compared to the crazy expensive places these days. This place is a rip off. The place is near the basement and smells weird. I did make reservation and before the day of the reservation, I passed by to see if the place was decent. This place does not look at all like a sushi restaurant and the smell by the basement is not acceptable. I called and cancelled the reservation and told me that they would not penalize me and refund me. I called twice and verified that it will be refunded. Nope. They never did and now they are saying it is a misunderstanding and they are not willing to refund. Do not be fooled on the pictures and good reviews. This place should not be serving...
