$151.11 for Xmas Eve Prix Fixe dinner at the Blvd December 24, 2019. Paid in advance using their reservation system TOCK. I had to repeatedly email them that i was sitting with 2 other people under the name Scott and that i was not booking a table for 1. Repeatedly over email and on the phone 3 times. The BLVD restaurant sent me several emails per day reminding me of my reservation and a text that i had to reply to the day before the dinner. Harassment much? I had already paid!!
We were told 5pm sharp and out by 6.30pm Too bad our waiter didn't know this as we sat there until 5.30pm trying to hail down anyone to take our order so we could have time to eat it before 6.30pm rolled around. Our waiter was rushed and breathless and could hardly write our order down fast enough before running off again. We had to ask repeatedly for water for our table and as for bread...we saw it go past but we must have been earmarked as a no bread table.
The food came out wrong and was placed in front of the wrong people. Which then had to be sent back to the kitchen to come out again all wrong. Please BLVD - there were 3 options for starters, 4 for mains and 2 for dessert??? How hard can it be for professional waiters to work it out?
Now for the food review. Inedible. Seriously. The gnocchi had so much salt on it is was revolting not to mention a tiny portion. The lamb shank was extremely small and once again salty floating in mashed something which was watery and could have come out of a packet. The dessert was not good either. The cheapest glass of red wine on the menu was $20. Something you can buy anywhere too. Nothing special.
So the service and the food were beyond bad and we all felt let down and disappointed after paying $151.11 in advance. Strike that - we felt worse when the waiter rushed up to us as we were standing up and putting our coats on to present us with a bill for $470.33. Yelling at us that we hadn't paid. We yelled back that we did pay! i had to go into my Bank of America phone app and scroll through all of my recent transactions and find the TOCK charge for $151.11 and show 3 different people. Not cool or relaxing or fun for Xmas Eve. Made to feel like we were 'dashing and dining' with many diners witnessing our embarrassing predicament.
Will never set foot in the BLVD restaurant again. Terrible experience. A good story to tell everyone though!! Pretty Woman - you...
Read moreThe Boulevard restaurant at the Beverly Wilshire has probably one of the best views in the city that a customer can enjoy; especially when customers are seated at the outdoor terrace or ‘patio’. At breakfast, the coffee is delightfully served to perfection and they can offer coffee in takeaway cups as well in case you decide to sip your coffee outside after the meal has ended! Breakfast items change quite regularly, and they do not always have the same consistency or variety! While other breakfast menus are expansive, the restaurant has a very limited menu with not much variety. In addition, the staff can be a bit too personal and make informal remarks to customers which ruins the experience for those who do not expect this from a five star or luxury establishment. For customers who expect impeccable service, the restaurant does not provide it for you. I would definitely suggest to have a bigger menu with more choices, like other five star luxury establishments who do have variety. I would also suggest to have staff who are more friendly, well-trained, and proffessional. The hostess at breakfast is probably the only one who was cheerful and accomodating. Furthermore, unlike other restaurants that are lively and packed by 10pm, this one is empty at a time when most restaurants are busiest. I simply cant understand why the Four Seasons would close their restaurant at 10pm! What if customers have an evening flight and need to have a meal? What if they would like to spend an evening at the hotel? Do they have no choice but room service or dine elsewhere!! For the sake of guests’ convenience and to reach the standard of a luxury hotel, they should extend their hours and provide visitors with a great experience at the hotel! Closing by 10 while other nearby cafes and restaurants are full and lively is a wrong decision. All five star hotel restaurants worldwide are packed nightly, why in Beverly Hills would you request your customers to leave early or order only water or very limited drinks! Please change the system and improve...

Came here for my birthday last Sunday for brunch. From start to finish — the experience is elegant. Jeff was our waiter and said “fifth is the new 18.”
The photos explain the experience. Live jazz music, now wait, parking across the street is 2 hours free, I paid $5.
Food is excellent, especially the burger with the marrow infused. The barbecue sauce was delicious and not really “ketchup like in consistency.” The dessert is amazing — whip cream is fresh (no fridge taste like another high end hotel I had been to in May on the east coast). I love the detail of the thinly rolled white chocolate dyed with raspberry juice shaped like a candle… cannot figure how the patisserie chef created that. Dessert reminds me of Patti Jinich’s James Beard Award Mexican recipe, except I never tasted hers. This was healthier abd beautiful. In one of the patisserie, there is some ice cream surrounded by fresh whipped cream.
Crouton on the Caesar salad was shredded to not overpower the pepitas. Dijon has turmeric, no white wine, therefore softer. Mayonnaise uses safflower oil and real eggs (I.e. soybean oil typically has a flavor).
Hot water served in a German (probably Boden) double-wall glass.
The take home coffee used a paper lid. I tested the cup two more consecutive days and it is sustainable, not coated with chemicals. All paper packaging that doesn’t soak through because of its texture.
On the way in or out, check out the stunning chandelier and bouquet of flowers. This is the hotel where “Pretty Woman” was filmed and I believe that the human-operated elevator still works.
They have the best desserts, lots of effort for minimal price… I’ll try to find the Mother’s Day dessert. Mikimoto next door —...
