While scrolling my favorite place, Gmail (😚) I stumbled across an email from Carrabas. They advised me it's been awhile ,they missed me and swnt me $10 loaded to my Dining Rewards account. Say less ! After an evening shift instacarting and ubereats delivery ,I decided I deserved a cute solo dinner on the patio . I made my commute and was quickly seated on the patio. Mind you it's a humid Saturday evening and I'm sweet as pie, so I have no idea why I thought that was a good idea... within 3 mins I was ATE UP , the bugs devoured my feet 🙃. After some time ,my waitress Tee finally found me . By this time ,I had decided on my dish and ordered right away .
I decided on what I feel is the best option if your stuck between all the lovely CHICKEN dishes. The Chicken TRIO , Chicken Marsala, chicken Bryan and Pollo Rosa Maria . The entree comes with a soup or salad and choice of side . I opted for a Ceasar salad and garlic mash potatoes.
I gathered My things and was seated in a corner booth inside. Shortly after a waitor came and served me sliced bread with herb medley . I don't know what that herb concoction entails however ,I love it so ! The secret to intensifying the flavors of this already delicious herb blend ? Ask for butter 🧈. I drizzled olive oil over the herbs then I smeared the butter on the bread ,dipped in the herb oil . Chefs kiss 💋 A few minutes passed and I was served my salad . Now I may wayvh to much Chef Ramsey to know a Ceasars salad is supposed to be or SHOULD be served on a freezing cold plate, mine was not . The lettuce was room temp as well as the dressing . I've had this salad from here before and I loved it . This time around it was basic . The lettuce did have a crunch leading me to assume to was fresh ,it was just lukewarm and not to my standard. I devoured it anyhow.
The grand finale finally arrived. I didn't know where to start ,so I started with the Marsala. I LOVE Chicken Marsala so my expectation was high . Of the three chicken breast , this was the most underwhelming of the three . This chicken itself tasted bland , like the chicken wasn't seasoned itself. The mushrooms and glazed carried this one . I rate this one ... on THIS occasion a 2/5 stars. Underwhelming Next was the chicken Bryan! Wowwwww , I love chicken pesto pasta and sun dried tomatoes and this was so reminiscent of it . I was so delicious and the added fresh basil was the perfect touch! It was juicy and moist unlike the first . Definitely gave Cain and Able . Siblings but so different. This one I would give a 4.5/5 stars. DIVINE Lastly , was the Pollo Rosa . This one was stuffed with Fontona cheese and prosciutto. Yall !!!!!! I had a taste of a wine reduction drizzled on top , it was delicious !again the basil and mushroom were the perfect touch! 4.5/5 stars . The mash was the perfect addition ,and now thinking back a side of asparagus would of really set it off !
Over all my experience was nice . I finished my entire entree and salad ! Says alot . 4/5 . Be sure to sign up for the dining rewards program to track for points and reward dollars for visits here and outback steakhouse . Will...
Read moreAlright. I love Carrabba's. It is one of my 2 favorite places to eat here in Birmingham. But my last experience was lacking. Up until now I have never had a bad experience at Carrabba's, and maybe it was a off night but it was disappointing to say the least. Normally the food quality and taste,is rivaled only by the exceptional customer service. I took a group of friends, most of whom had never been to Carrabba's, for a Sunday night meal. Our server never offered her name. She did not respond to questions or comments, nor did she acknowledge any requests. We just had to wait and see if it happened. I thought, you never know she may be having the worst night of her life, husband left her, dog died, bank account hacked, anyone can have a off night. But then I noticed the table next to us receiving exceptional service. From the same server. It was all laughs and good times at their table when she stopped by. This left my entire table to begin to wonder why we were the odd ducks. We were a very ethnically and culturally diverse group and, although we had consumed a couple of pitchers of Blackberry sangria, served without the normal bits of berry or citrus that should have been in it, we could not recall being rude or off putting in any way. Leading us to believe it was a personal issue the server had with one of our group. When our meals were served she brought half of our food out, set it on a tray next to us and delivered a salad to the table next to us. She then went back to the kitchen, brought the rest of our food out, set it on the tray, and walked to the table next to us to put cheese on their salad. Upon return to our table she handed each plate to the person closest to her to pass down, and then left without even offering cheese to us. She did not return until we had been finished eating for quite some time. We tempted fate and ordered dessert, the chocolate dream. Usually just that a chocolate dream! We ordered several and every single one was dry as if it had been sitting out for a day or 2. All in all I was supremely disappointed in our trip, after talking and planning this with my friends for over a month. We were a group of 6 and my bill alone was almost $200.00. This server missed an opportunity to make her night with a table of normally severe over tippers for just average service. I am trying to convince my group to give it another try, because even without the cheese the entree's were Fab as always, but the bad service is holding them back. We would have complained to the manager about our experience, but my rule is if you have consumed alcohol, no matter how little, take the issue home and revisit it when you are sober the next day. If I had judged on this experience alone I would have given - 1 star. But because of the normally great experience I...
Read moreDining out should be an enjoyable experience, marked by good food and excellent service. Unfortunately, my recent visit to a local restaurant was marred by a series of disappointing interactions with the staff, particularly the host and bartender. This review aims to detail the unfortunate events that transpired during my visit, highlighting issues of customer service that need addressing. Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by the host, who seemed disinterested in assisting me. My partner uses a wheelchair, and due to inclement weather, I needed a bag to protect it from getting soaked. I approached the host with this request, clearly asking for a trash bag. Instead of receiving assistance or understanding, I was met with confusion and indifference. Despite repeating my request for a “trash bag,” the staff’s response was inadequate. They brought napkins instead—an item completely unrelated to my needs. This miscommunication could have been easily resolved with attentive listening and a willingness to assist. However, when I reiterated my request for a trash bag, the bartender walked away without any acknowledgment or further assistance. The situation escalated when I questioned why the bartender chose to walk off while I was still in need of help. His response was dismissive; he stated he was attending to another table instead. This behavior felt particularly rude and unprofessional. It raised concerns about prioritization based on customer appearance rather than first-come-first-served service ethics. In light of his abrupt dismissal and lack of support, I couldn’t help but feel that there might have been an underlying bias at play. The fact that he chose to assist another table over mine—without even attempting to address my needs—left me questioning whether race played a role in his decision-making process. Feeling unwelcome and disrespected, I informed both the host and bartender that my partner and I would take our business elsewhere. It is unfortunate that this restaurant lost potential customers due to their poor attitudes and lack of basic hospitality skills. My experience at this restaurant serves as a cautionary tale about the importance of customer service in the hospitality industry. A welcoming atmosphere is crucial for any dining establishment; however, this particular venue failed miserably in that regard. The rudeness displayed by both the host and bartender not only ruined our visit but also highlighted systemic issues within their approach to customer care.
In summary, if you value respectful service and attentiveness during your dining experiences, you may want to consider other options before visiting this...
