Painted Tree Boutique is a chain of retail spaces that function as a marketplace for hundreds of small business owners and creators. It's often described as a "physical Etsy or Pinterest brought to life," but I see it more as a cross between a spring craft fair and an upscale flea market. The experience is kind of a treasure hunt, and there are lots of really cool and unique gift ideas there. We’ve been to one in Florida and the experience is similar. The Birmingham location offers a wide variety of items, including homemade goods from local artisans, home decor, clothing, antiques, vintage finds, pet stuff, food goods, Alabama and Auburn swag, and other unique gifts. But you will also find a bunch of foreign-made knickknacks and resale goods too, especially in the front two well-funded booths you’ll see upon entering. I suppose some folks like that stuff. AVOID THIS PLACE! This place definitely over did it with the fake cameras. Let me explain. Dummy cameras definitely contribute to a false sense of security and or constantly being monitored, which are equally bad. Keep in mind, If a shop or business prominently displays fake security cameras to mislead customers into believing they’re being monitored, it could be considered false advertising or deceptive business practices which could lead to complaints and potential legal action from consumers. Ultimately, I’m sure others will agree that fake cameras severely damage reputations when customers feel deceived and trust in the business's commitment to their safety. Excited to see this type of shop environment opening in Birmingham! I enjoy the shopping experience of being able to find of lot of different shops all under one roof.
