Food was not as good as I remembered and my order was messed up with both my burger and fries. Ordered a shack burger, gluten free bun with no shack sauce (because a normal cheeseburger doesn’t have lettuce and tomato) and a cheese fry with an extra side of cheese. From past shake shack experiences you don’t get enough cheese sauce for half the fries which is why I was excited about my extra cheese sauce. Pull up to collect my order in the drive through and am handed a ginormous bag which is just a waste in itself for two items. The bag is so large and has paper bag handles so I can’t keep the bag closed to keep the food hot on the drive home. So now I come home to cold food, sit down and see that my burger was packed with the lid completely open with the fry box sitting in the lid (extra cold burger now). Also see there’s only 1 cheese sauce cup when I ordered two. Take a few bites of the burger and cannot get over the spongey texture of the gluten free bun bottom so take it off. Then realize there’s some gross pickle taste and realize my burger has shack sauce on it when I specifically ordered it without sauce. The drive through experience was also another issue. It has two lanes that immediately merge so there’s no space to pull up and get out of the way for the person behind to order. People in line were honking at each other and I can honestly say I’ve never experienced such an angry drive through. Needless to say, for $16.08 for a single flimsy patty burger and fries, I’ll never be going back and will continue to go...
Read moreWe went the day it opened so I get it. They were very busy. Paid almost $60 for an order of fries, two shakes, and what was supposed to be two cheeseburgers and a chicken shack. The chicken shack was on a gluten free bun, which we did not order. We were also charged for a shroom burger. Gross. We did not order that. The cheeseburgers did not have cheese. And we were charged for burgers, even though we ordered them with cheese. I submitted the issue online and they sent me a mobile gift card for $35 even though this location was not taking mobile/online orders. They changed the gift card for us. Onto the second visit. Two shakes. 3 burgers and fries. Over $40. This place is ridiculously overpriced. What is really hard to comprehend is they don't even put the condiments on the sandwiches. What if I was eating on the run? Also the sandwiches are in sleeves and not wrapped, the fires are just in an open platter. Nothing like having the food be lukewarm by the time you get home. They really need to rethink some of their procedures. The shakes are the only good thing about this place, but still not worth $6.29- $6.99. I was so excited for this location near my home to open up and I am really disappointed. I don't think the location in Washington D.C was nearly...

My experience was a bit of a disappointment if I’m honest. I dined in, I was greeted by a self checkout machine which is fine I guess, but it left an impersonal first impression.
As I was pecking away in the display I suddenly realized I was approaching $43 dollars for my meal. To be fair, I was dining with my honey bunny and she didn’t want me to spend $3.99 on a drink, so we saved a little money there.
Anyway, the meal was expensive but it’s my first visit and I wanted to try them out. I will admit I was a little surprised that I was prompted for a tip after I entered my order. Unless that tip comes back to me in the form of a discount, they shouldn’t be prompting for more money.
The food came and that burger was SMALL certainly not impressive in size, but definitely impressed with the flavor. Thank you, that was a good burger, but it was gone in two bites. Fries also were good.
Remember that my wife and I shared a drink? They do give refills if you ask.
Kind of a bummer that the restaurant was messy. Overall good food, but not worth the expense. Culver’s is better and you don’t need to sell a kidney to get a...
