Chubbies Burrito — Restaurant in Bloomington

I decided to try this place with my husband based on a foodies group on Facebook that had so many raving reviews. First start: I loved the design of the place! Super cool! It was so fun inside. When we walked to the counter is was like a chipotle or QDOBA, but nothing was labeled or listed on the menu so it was hard to tell what was what. With that being said-we both decided to make our lives and the 2 workers lives easier and order the chubbies burrito (that was the only pre-menu’d burrito) One employee made my husbands and it was completely different from the one the 2nd employee made me. His had no queso but mine did, his had no chorizo but mine did. His had no salsa but mine did. His had shredded cheese but mine didnt. Not consistent at all even tho it states what all comes in the burrito. We also ordered elote & chips & queso. The elote had so much lime in it, it gave me a stomachache. I really tried to power through it but I couldn’t even eat it the lime was so strong-it was unbearable. The best part of the entire meal was the amount of chips and queso that you got for $5 and it was delicious. We spent about $35 for the 2 of us with the extras. Unique build your own burrito place. Make sure you read the menu in full be for building your burrito, if you don’t you may end up with a $30 burrito with out realizing it lol. I found the burrito (2) I got to be filling. There massive but not very flavorful. I do not recommend trying to eat more then 1 at a time. If I had told them ahead of time I was going to do a review might of been better lol. If your out on a pub crawl there open to 3am. They will need to increase there flavor to be a winner in my book. I also got tamales. They were dry and I recommend adding something to them but they don’t tell you that. They play the music so loud you can barely here the person asking what you want. If you are looking to have your own personal creation of tacos, burritos, protein bowls, and more then check out Chubbies Burrito in downtown Bloomington. This has become a regular stop for myself and several co-workers every Friday night as they are open very late into the early morning and always give top notch service! Like with most places that build things to order in front of you, sometimes you may get a heavy handed serving and sometimes not as much but that's really the only thing that may put some people off of going repeatedly.
