I went at 4:30 p.m. on a Sunday afternoon. There was one other person in there but the place was completely dead other than that. The server was acting very busy it took him well over 5 minutes to get us our drinks ordered and another 5 to 10 minutes to place an order for our food.
The atmosphere was completely dead. No music playing, no people talking, silence.
The floors were very sticky and there were several flies. They have a public bathroom but I suggest you hold it if you can. There is a sign that says please knock because the lock doesn't work. The bathroom door freely opens. There was pee on the floor along with a blue pill. The bathroom flooring was warped around the toilet.
I ordered the honey chicken which was the top option under American food. It was delicious but in reality it was basically chicken nuggets covered in a honey sauce. The food was definitely a four out of five. It was significantly more expensive than I thought. My girlfriend had surged for cheap Chinese restaurants near me and this was the top choice but everything on the menu was $17.99 or above.
My girlfriend and I went there with one of her friends and our total was well over $70 for three people to get an entree with a drink.
Overall not impressed and I will not be going back or recommending. I highly recommend you avoid this restaurant. The floors are very sticky the bathroom is beyond disgusting there are flies everywhere and there is no music. Not to mention the parking is god-awful. I can't imagine trying to come on a busy weekday. We got lucky and I was able to park within walking distance at an open meter. There is essentially no parking other than paid parking if you can find an open parking meeter that is.
I would not waste my time or hard-earned money on this place again. It was a one-time thing because we were in town. We will not be...
Read moreJust a word of warning, the 3 cup chicken is made from chopped chicken wings, so for $11.99 you receive a container of bone and skin, with little to no meat. I asked the owner if 80% bone was normal the next morning, he stated ," yes, bone and skin." He was the one who stated "it was made from chopped chicken wings" on the phone. I was originally thinking maybe, end of the night, they scooped what was left in the bottom of a pot, the bones and skin and served it to me by accident, but after speaking with him realized this is their standard fare served unabashed, with no apologies. Literally every piece of meat was a chunk of bone with a tiny remnant of meat attached on the edge. I ended up filling the pint container the rice came in almost completely full with the bones I recieved. This was unacceptable in my opinion, and after asking several Chinese exchange students if this was traditional Chinese cooking was told unanamously that they also would have found it unacceptable. I hope that this was a mistake they don't want to own up to, irregardless their customer service was found to be incredibly lacking and response to my complaint reprehensible. In response to owners reply. I wasn't upset that the chicken came with bones, but rather the bones came without any chicken. I would have gotten more meat from one chicken leg from KFC, then I did with your entire meal. We also eat meat with bones in america, I'd be just as annoyed if I ordered BBQ and recieved a plate of bones without any meat on them . Then told not recommended if your not familiar...
Read moreWe ate here on a trip through last year and it was very good the first time (we told them it was our first try), and good the second time. This trip, I don't know what happened but it's not good. We ordered mostly from the "Chinese menu" rather than the "American Chinese", though we got our hot & sour soup from the latter. The soup was pretty good, over-loaded with egg to the point where it was difficult to distinguish any other foods. Definitely very little in the way of vegetables. Smashed cucumber was cut up, not smashed, in a thin garlicky sauce - odd, we've never had it in a "white" or translucent sauce anywhere else, including here last year. The salt & pepper fried spareribs were fried, for sure. Most of them was coating; whenever either of us managed to get through that to the meat, it was so tough as to be inedible. Or at least, not chewable. My wife even asked one of the staff if it was supposed to be tough and chewy, but the answer was just that they were coated and deep friend. The cold noodles were all right. The best thing we had was the salt & pepper crispy shrimp. Although I wish they'd been fried in hotter oil, so they'd be a little less greasy-tasting - AND they should have been fried in hotter oil so the tails could have been eaten! - they were at least all right to eat. The legs were crisp, the accompanying vegetables were mostly large slivers of jalapenos, and some onions. All in all this was very disappointing. We only get here once a year and had really been looking...
