I pretty much crave Korean BBQ in any state I'm in at some certain point in time. Korea Restaurant was the choice of the moment and the food here was great. This is a little shop on a busy street amongst other wonderful little restaurants but I was able to dine in and enjoy the atmosphere. I ordered the Tteok-kochi (rice cake skewer), which is a spicy fried rice cake served with a Korean style sauce as an appetizer. It was fried, crispy and chewy, everything I expected with good flavor. For an entrée I ordered Samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly) served with grilled onions and green onions. Pork belly is one of my go-tos whenever I order Korean BBQ and luckily this place did not disappoint in the slightest and came sizzling on a hot plate, yum! It comes with rice and side dishes that include sprouts, tofu, potatoes, kimchi, fish cakes, and a house sauce for dipping. If I am ever in town I would definitely come back here and order again, busy or not! The service here is decent and quite nice, quick to take your order and ready to go when you are. Hope to see you again...

My partner and I wanted to go to Marco and Polo restaurant yesterday but Google map didn’t show they were booked. Since we did the long drive to Bloomington, we decided to go to a Korean Restaurant nearby. The name is Korea Restaurant and food is authentic and price is quite right for current economy and if you order fried dumpling 6 piece, you get to have all these other cool things with it. We ordered chicken teriyaki and beef bulgogi. The server is a Korean guy and he is extremely down to earth, approachable, and nice. I am glad we ended up with such an elevated experience despite the unfortunate incident.

It was my first time in an authentic Korean restaurant and I had watched lots of Korean TV series in my early twenties and I love how people make kimchi in their house. This kimchi was super delicious compared to what I used to buy at international markets.

Besides the kimchi, the most delicious pieces were cucumber in the vinegar sauce and then the fried vegetables dumplings.

Highly suggest their...

I’m going to type this into Korean, as well, so that the owner of this establishment might see what kind of nonsense is going on in her restaurant. My girlfriend and I went in there yesterday (9/17/23) to get something to eat before grocery shopping, and normally, when we walk in, we’re typically greeted by a lady who I’m assuming is the owner, and we can pick where we want to sit if we want to. However, when we went in there yesterday, we were greeted by a completely different lady, who, instead of seating us, told us to “hold on a second” hatefully as she was sorting what I believe were receipts, and were actually seated by one of the two gentlemen that were bussing tables out front. Once we sat down, the other patrons were talking significantly louder than they needed to be to hear each other, which was already getting on my nerves, but what the final nail in the coffin was for both of us was that once the waitress was finally taking orders, she started taking the order of the table across from us, and then as soon as the guy asked her a question, she said “hold on a second” really hatefully, again, and ran off for a while before coming back to take his order, he then asked his question, something about a menu item, and she had no clue what she was talking about, didn’t actually answer his question, just said some words in hopes he’d move on, and even he was frustrated. So I thought “I don’t wanna be treated like that,” packed our stuff and left the restaurant without even ordering anything. I’m a regular at this restaurant, and I love their food, but until the owner hires some competent help, I doubt I’ll be returning.

As authentic as authentic gets. If your dinnerware and beverage cups dont match and you feel like you're in your asian grandma's house for lunch/dinner, then you know how authentic the food will be. First time experience here was GREAT. Pleasant server, great food portions and overall fantastic. Korean pancake was a bigger portion than I'm used to but hey MORE for me. It took me back to my childhood growing up with my korean friends. Per usual korean food always comes with "banchan" which is translated into side dishes. Every one of them did not disappoint. Tteokkbokki is a go to order for me personally and they did a fine job. We got a korean sushi roll and korean noodle dish. Everything was so comforting. Thanks for a great experience! Support local! Parking is street only.
