Hook & eye. More like, put A hook in my eye.

I’m not sure if I caught a bad day or what happened here- so I definitely want to give this place the Benefit of the doubt before I start bashing it. But man, was it a BAD time.

First and foremost, I’ll start with the fact that I am not from here. I found this place on yelp and it seemed to have a beautiful atmosphere and what looked like great food. So we came.

Very strange- walking in, you had the service team congregated in the corner behind the back left wall and the bartender running around like she’s running everything from the patio and to the back to the bar like she is weeded.(this means very busy with no help during a rush)

But there was only 3 tables in the restaurant so it didn’t really make sense and to Which - is she may have been busy- why is no one helping her? Why is the bartender taking the whole floor? (That’s just poor overhead management at this point)

Anywho- we walk in. No one greets us. we ask if its self service and the bartender brushes us off with a nod. Eventually one of the young service girls brings us a menu outside and for the next 20 min there was no acknowledgment or drink order.

So - benefit of the doubt - AGAIN- I walk inside and ask the bartender “hi do we order up here or do we wait for the server”

She then hits me with “whatever you want, I didn’t even see y’all out there.”

I return with “yeah no problem, I already know what we would like, so would it be better for me to order with you and one of the servers.”

“Well if you want to wait for someone to come over then you can- but I’m easy going so whatever you want”

This interaction wasn’t terrible. But it was very nonchalant. Long story short, I gave her the order.

Regardless, I bring this up because the service was just not good. No one cared. No one could be found. It seems like the bartender was the only one working. While 3 other girls were there just hanging out. I understand poor service can stem from a deeper issue with management, lack of experience, etc but it definitely needs work.

Secondly let’s talk about the food…. Just stop, turn around, and hit the exit.

Heavily. over priced tortilla chips from the corporate’s, wholesale food distribution company -made with zero love, covered by chicken and cheese two molecules away from plastic. The nachos were a definite no.

I then went to try their turkey lunch sandwich, and other than the store bought, preservative filled, Neon green guacamole (which on the menu it said avocado) and deli turkey which was now growing scales. Did not. Do the job in satisfying our lunch. (Mind you still no service this entire time)

So two waters, a sandwhich, nachos, and $44 later, I would recommend spending your money else where.

(If you’ll only be drinking and enjoying the balcony- this is all this place...

An HONEST review: Place was okay. Very clean and well maintained. Grateful for the heaters above the tables outside! Staff was friendly and attentive HOWEVER, the “view” from the “rooftop” (side balcony) is that of downtown BR which now consists of a bunch of buildings and parking lots. We intentionally went during a gorgeous sunset and were still underwhelmed as the buildings hide everything. Bummer! Establishment is geared more toward those looking for a few drinks/bar scene than a family/ group wanting dinner. Food extremely limited (less than 10 choices) underwhelming as far as the choices given and extremely overpriced for what was served to us. (Charcuterie board says feeds 2-4… definitely feeds 2 at best.) Each person ordered something different and all voted mediocre at best…2/4 of us left still left hungry and stopped at McDonalds on the way back home. Unfortunately, a one and done...

Yet another downtown blue ridge restaurant hoping to survive on tourism and the ease of its location rather than quality. The menu is small, which makes me optimistic that the kitchen is focusing on being able to execute it well. This was not the case. My friend and I had stopped in to have a few drinks and some appetizers, which the menu is very much lacking in. We opted for the pork dumplings and an order or tater tots. The dumplings were run of the mill frozen pot stickers and one in our order was just an empty wanton, way over priced at $14 for 6. The tater tots were under cooked and mushy. The drinks weren’t anything special. The only reason I’d return is to drink a beer on the patio. If you’re looking for food or cocktails,...

We had dinner at the rooftop restaurant during our one-night stay at the hotel. It's a casual setup—you seat yourself. Our group of six chose a table toward the back by the window, which gave us a great view of the scenic train. It was a bit chilly, so we opted to stay indoors rather than sit outside. The waitress greeted us promptly and handed out menus. We placed our drink and food orders shortly after. I do wish the menu offered a few more options. My daughter and I shared the buffalo flatbread, which was very tasty, though she mentioned she would’ve liked more chicken on it. My husband ordered the chicken Caesar wrap and really enjoyed it. Overall, the place had a nice vibe—perfect for winding down the evening.
