In town on a layover, wanted to try some local beer with my bf and popped in here. We were checking out the flight menu at the bar and weren't sure what to do next to order so we walked nearer to where two bartenders were standing. They were having a conversation, my bf said 'hey guys whats going on', very politetly. One looked right at my bf and clearly acknowledged his existence, and turned back to the side to keep talking to his coworker. We just stood there and then he looked back at us with a blank stare and didn't say A THING. I said 'is this not where we order?' And he got us our flights without one once of customer service, even though my bf kept saying thank you and was being kind. We discussed afterwards that was the most awkward conversation and customer service interaction wed ever had. We didn't feel like we did anything out of the ordinary, just trying to order. I approached the bartender a few minutes later and asked if we did something wrong, and he said he was just in the middle of taking care of other customers and he had seen us and was getting to us next. Well that's chill bro all you had to say was hey guys what's up? I'll be with yall in just a second. Not act like we were the most inconvenient part of your day. We work in your industry and get it. And that was awful customer service bros. Never been treated so poorly on the first...
Read morePopped in on my way through Boise for a tasting flight. My personal favorite was the Recoil IPA. I'm normally not a fan of IPAs--since the microbrew boom of the early 2010s, everybody and their mother makes one, and they're usually not very good. Payette's are truly something special, however. The Recoil is hoppy without the usual accompanying bitterness, making it a smooth summer sip, almost more akin to a blonde ale or hefewizen. The taste reminds one of that first huff of ponderosa pine on a welcome warm spring morning.
The taphouse is open and inviting, with a healthy mix of young Boisians playing pool, throwing darts, or lounging on the patio with their dogs. For the collector, merch includes stylish trucker caps, glassware, dog accessories, and warm flannels bearing the Payette logo. Food trucks stationed just outside ensure no visitor need go hungry. Prices were exceedingly reasonable, keeping this local gem accessible to all.
With a healthy selection of lagers, ales, and IPAs (not to mention their ciders and nonalcoholic beverages), this is one watering hole sure to satisfy...
Read moreThis so could have been a five star review if not for how my girlfriend, and somehow I, were treated by the staff. Came here after a BSU football game and the only reason was to see our favorite local band Audio Moonshine. We had fun dancing, along with my parents and good friend. 1st time here and will DEFINITELY be our last. 3 bouncers came over to our table and told my girlfriend she had to leave. They would not give an explanation. So of course that ment I had to leave too. Before we walked out the door I asked what the hell is going on here. They said we believe your girlfriend has had too much to drink and we want her to leave. Ummmn, what about just not serving someone as opposed to removing them? What a joke!!! I know if and when my girlfriend has drank to much as this DEFINITELY was not one of those times!! Too bad we were treated this way, we will NEVER go back and bad mouth this place to all of our friends. I will never drink another Payette Beer as long as I live! Spend money where you are treated well, and those that treat you well! A...
