Visited for lunch during Labor Day Weekend.
Staff mostly nice, but few terrible. When taking orders, waiter was professional at first, but became annoyed when questions about the food were asked. Waiter especially got agitated when asked about substitutions. Although this place grills food, they don’t allow changes in what is grilled. I.e, chicken, salmon, and other dishes come with seasonal steamed veggies. Waiter did not allow these veggies to be substituted with grilled veggies, and was really rude about it. Waiter literally said “if your table isn’t ready to order yet, I have four other tables to take orders from…..” Restaurant wasn’t packed during this lunchtime, service just terrible, sadly.
food mostly good. Calamari, salmon, burger, lobster pasta, humus, sorbet, and greek salad where some good items, but 1) grilled shrimp wasn’t marinated and tasted like burned shrimp, 2) steak kabab not seasoned well, 3) fries okay, not great, 4) pita bread dry, too burned. Entrees were delivered in 20 min for some in our group, but then about an hour for others! Was crazy. Water wasn’t refilled, waiters barely attended, despite there being lots of them.
indoor and outdoor atmospheres were nice, however after 2pm the sun scorches you as there is no cover (no parasols, umbrellas, ect). We almost died in the sun and had to go inside, food unfinished, and asked to pay, since the waiter rarely stopped by the tables.
Verdict: food and atmosphere most excellent, but service is terrible due to 1) rude waiters, 2) waiters not attending, 3) no shade outside in the afternoon, and worst part 4) not allowing substitutions in food and being rude about it.
I would not recommend this place. Instead, great food and best service can be found around the corner at Woods Hill Peir 4, or Italian more inland at Nebo Cucina. No idea why this place has/d a good rating, maybe it was better before - good luck and hopefully this restaurant gets better in the...
Read moreWe purchased tickets for Mr. DinnerParty: The Carnival, which clearly stated to arrive by 9:00 PM. At many events in Boston, arriving late can mean being denied entry, so we arrived exactly at 9:00.
Upon arrival, we saw them seat a separate party of 20 with a 9:15 reservation. We were told the event would not begin until after that group finished dinner and were asked to wait at the bar. By 9:45, our chairs were removed, leaving us standing awkwardly with no appropriate place to wait. At no point were our tickets looked at or scanned.
When we asked about the start time, we were told 10:00 PM. At 10:30, the host told us it would actually be 11:00 PM, and at that point the staff was still scrambling to set up and finalize a seating chart. Meanwhile, guests like us who had paid $50 per ticket were pushed around, left standing, and repeatedly dismissed. When we asked to step outside for a walk, the bouncer refused, claiming the event had already started, though it clearly had not.
We weren’t treated like valued guests but rather as an inconvenience. Having us wait two hours before the event started felt severely disrespectful to our time and an insult to our intelligence when they remarked that "most everyone knows not to come till 11PM," when the tickets clearly printed 9PM and staff seemed unaware when the event actually started. Other groups were also visibly frustrated. I would like to state that the host did her best to be helpful and informative under the circumstances she couldn't control, but overall the service and organization were unacceptable. For the price we paid, this was an extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience. I would not recommend it to anyone and I have no...
Read moreI would like to start off by saying, I did not get the best service right when I walked through that door, but I really enjoyed the food. So I gave it a 3 stars for the food and deducted the 2 stars for the service I got.
Service: I was a walk in guest and asked if there was any tables, the host told me it was fully booked tonight (even though there was literally so many empty seats). I walk out and check online to make a rsvp. There were so many tables open from 5-8. So I made a rsvp and walked right back in. She proceeded to tell me “Im glad you guys cane back there was a cancellation on the rsvp”. Ok… got seated orders taken, appetizers came out within 10 minutes. The entree took 20, not too long not too fast I guess was just surprised. When we got the food, they didn’t even ask us if we needed anything else nor did they notice that we were missing a fork. Had to wait a long time just to get someone to get me a fork. Towards the end we were waiting for our waiter to get the check and takeout boxes, but he was no where to be found. When the manager walked by I asked if he could get us the boxes, he said he will find someone for me. He never even did because the waiter finally came back and I had to ask him again. Service was just slow.
Food: I really enjoyed the octopus, it was full of flavor and easy to chew. The fish was very good as well. The steak was not bad, if only they had better steak knives. I could barely cut mine with their steak knife…
Ambiance: as we were leaving it did get more packed. The bathroom was pretty neat and clean. I liked how big and roomy the restaurant was. The lighting wasn’t too dark, and lots of window views from...
