This is a pretty regular lunchtime spot for me. Folks working here are usually pretty friendly despite what I've seen in other reviews. What does seem to be a growing trend is the turnaround time required from order to sandwich. I will preface my experience by stating that it looked as though a couple of large orders were being prepared and it was lunchtime. However, there weren't that many people in the shop and there was a decent sized crew behind the counter. I placed an order online and after about 30mins time I had to cancel my order because it wasn't ready yet and I had to go back to work. This was a single sandwich order. My ticket looked like it had been pulled from the shelf and was sitting on the counter, so maybe they had started working on it? I wasn't sure. No hassle in canceling the order but also no follow-up about why I was cancelling it either. I understand large orders can create a bottleneck, as can a toasting machine that moves as slow as molasses. But, in my experience having people dedicated to large and small orders during lunch is the best way to go, especially when the crew size is pretty hefty.
Anyhow, this review is less for the crowds and more for the folks running this location. I've been a long time eater of Snarf's but now I have to second-guess stopping there for lunch which is a real bummer. Thanks...
Read moreA repeat customer for the Vegetarian sandwich (I'm not even vegetarian, it's that good) as I work just down the street but poor customer service today. When I realized I had an incorrect order, I walked back to Snarfs greeted by "alright so tell me what happened" like I was going to the principal's office. Wanted me to "at least pay for another small" and was arguing that I wasn't clear over the phone (apparently instead of ordering "the vegetarian" like I always do, I was supposed to list out every single ingredient on the sandwich from the menu). I even brought the sandwich back! He never apologized or offered to correct my order. After 5 minutes of back and forth arguing, he just shook his head dismissively and asked the other employee (who was very kind) to make the sandwich. Clearly he was having a bad day but was just such a disappointment to feel like "my spot" no longer has that Boulder community vibe and felt the need to share.
See photo for sprouts & avocado on bread for $9 :(
Moral of the story: Even if it's listed on the menu, make sure you list off every ingredient on your sandwich and make sure it is correct before...
Read moreNew Snarf's location on Pearl Street. I had a horrible experience there. I ordered a vegetarian which was supposed to come with avocado and sprouts. I asked for bacon to be added to it. I drove home and the only thing on the sandwich was lettuce, cheese and two strips of bacon. So I returned to the store and asked for it to be remade, which they did, only to have it made the same way again. Of course, I didn't check it before I went home thinking that there was no way that they would screw it up again. But they did. So I went back a third time and explained to the person taking the order that a vegetarian has avocado and sprouts on it too. To which he responded rudely, "I know what's on a vegetarian, I'm the general manager". So I just asked for my money back which he did but was a complete jerk while doing it. I'm never going back...
