Very nice restaurant, plates are very pleasing to the eye. Our waitresses were fantastic, upbeat, courteous and attentive to service! Shout out to Kirsten for helping when we were her first table on her first official shift. I try to make my reviews with an open mind as to what a restaurant is trying to accomplish with their dish, and I'm always trying to do something new, but unfortunately here I have a few critiques. We ordered: Buffalo nachos appetizer, chips and onion dip (app), romane and iceberg salad, grilled chicken potatoes and vegetable side. We also ordered Buffalo brisket with potatoes, and vegetable side. The nachos came out with minimal toppings, and I mean 80%+ naked chips. We asked for an up on the toppings and while a marginal amount were added, it appeared a lot of their bison sauce was poured over the chips creating a very soggy nacho experience. The grilled chicken was flavorful with a grilled flavor, but no spices are added so the chicken comes out flat. The bison brisket is actually just a slow roasted (crock pot) shredded bison meat, and while the sauce was delicious I did not appreciate the meat as much. Bison being a lean meat, even drown in sauce comes across very dry. I was excited to try a bison brisket and this is as much a bait and switch as claiming a Hamburger sandwich is ground beef over a flat of white bread with a salad on top. Now enough with the negative, I really want to speak on what we liked most. The salad was delicious firm and fresh. The chips and onion dip was gone within 2 minutes. Everyone at the table loved the fresh baked chips and the flavor of the dip is fantastic without having too strong of an onion flavor. Great balance between salty and savory. The atmosphere feels quality and yet still small town. You certainly feel attended to by their staff and you can tell that Ted's Montana grill is trying to tackle a difficult market, Fresh, local and distinct. This presents a slough of navigations that most wouldn't dare try. Looking around at some of the other dishes, I would certainly like to try the salmon, Bison steak and crab cakes. While my experience may not fit the norm, I would recommend avoiding the "brisket" if you know what proper brisket is and avoid the nachos. *also note the chocolate/ice cream/fudge stand in the entry has delicious treats. It is quite expensive, but i would highly recommend them if you are able. The flavors are phenomenal and of very good quality. I...
Read moreOn May 19, 2023 while driving through the state I took my mother to dinner at this local Bozeman (joke) steakhouse. I should have known after we waited for one hour for our steaks that there would be a problem. Especially since there was non-stop laughter by multiple employees in the kitchen area upon our food being delivered. Seriously, non-stop laugh out loud rolling on the floor laughter by the kitchen staff. Both my mother and I became violently sick when we got back to our hotel in Bozeman, MT. And remained sick with stomach cramps for days afterwards. The server was slow and rude, the kitchen staff enjoyed non-stop laughter while we were eating and the "manager" asked us if we had a problem while we were eating? The very next morning at 11AM I called the restaurant to explain that my 80 year old mother and I were sick the entire evening. 3 days later Ms. Sheryl Beasley from the Risk Management Dept called and I explained that my mother and I were sick from the food we consumed. I politely requested a refund of the $120.00 spent on the dinner. She stated that she'd investigate the potential of bad food quality and call me back in 3 days. That never happened. Today, June 16, 2023, after multiple attempts to reach Ms. Beasley she finally answered the phone. I went into further detail about the behavior of the employees and she stated that she'd once again look into my claims and get back to me in 3 weeks. At this point (and I've patiently waited for nearly one month) I have to right this review and warn people to be careful visiting this restaurant. Only my opinion, but this place caters to the locals who drink heavily and could care less about food quality or service. If you want horrible customer service, both from the local employees AND their corporate office in Georgia, be my guest and have a great time. But don't be surprised if you become violently sick immediately after leaving this establishment. And if you do become ill and call the next morning when this place opens to report it, don't expect to get your money back. ...
Read moreThis is my first review and hopefully last. I was excited to try Ted’s for the first time and I left completely disappointed. While we were greeted warmly by the door staff I was deeply disappointed by the wait staff. As a bartender/ server I can understand a back up or even being slow to a table but what I can’t understand is being ignored while I’m watching people around me being served. I watched the waiter get on his knees to ask people how they were doing while he would actively look away from my table. I asked for a water and got ignored by the bartender (I asked because the waiter wouldn’t stop to ask if we were okay) there was a number of things that had me very disappointed in the wait staff and that’s not even getting to the food. First off my wife ordered a medium ribeye and it came out charred to the core while medium rare New York strip came out still being able to moo to me. When I ask for carmalized onions and mushrooms I don’t expect some slimy last minute throw ons especially for the price. The asparagus is digusting please consider throwing it on the blacktop for a bit to char it. When I order onion rings for a side I expect them to come out at some point while Im sitting in the restaurant. Overall we spent $147 on subpar service and food. The restaurant I work at could and does do better for a fifth of the price. The only thing saving this place were the guys playing guitar and singing the blues. They ended up being the only people that I gave a tip and that’s should really bother you considering I’m a great tipper and an easy person to get along with. I will never recommend this place to anyone and I will especially let my brown friends know. I’ve never been one to call the race card but it’s hard to feel not discriminated against when you’re the only brown people in a place and get treated the worst. I work hard to enjoy what I do and so does my wife I hope to never experience this “dining” experience ever again....
