Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Bradley

Went there at 12:20a.m, the place only had one table with people at it, all the others, were filthy, had to wait for the waitress to figure out which one she wanted to wipe down, we sat down, the waitress never came back, I had to get our menu's. She finally came to the table, by then it's after 1230, it took her over 15 minutes to get 3 waters, one pop and coffee. We didn't get our food until 1:40 in the morning, she claimed it was a large party, but two other tables had come in after us, ate and left way before us. took 45 minutes to get the shakes that were ordered. the cook was behind the counter dancing (nothing wrong with it, but it wasn't at the stove making our food. the cook was more worried about the 2 people sitting at the counter. when we did get our food, one order wasn't even put in, I made the comment oh lord, it will be another hour before we get that, they brought him out someone elses food, because it wasn't even the cheeseburger he ordered. We told the waitress to split our bill up, and she said we can do at the counter at check out. The floor was just gross (if I had paid more attention we wouldn't have even stayed because of that) I do know we will never go there again, I would starve before ever going there. I ordered a hot fudge sundae with whip cream, got it over an hour after ordering, it was in a styrofoam cup, with a big blob of hot fudge on top, no whip cream, the hot fudge was more like, chewy and chunky, have no idea how long it had been made, when I said something to the waitress on why it looked like it did, and could i get some whip cream (which I had to go chase down) she told me, it's ice cream with hot fudge. I said something to manager, she said oh it shouldn't have taken that long for your food, I will talk to your waitress, I said well you better start with the cook who dancing instead of cooking and the others in kitchen. very very poor service and...

I want to give more stars because we've always loved the burger and fries but, this is the 2nd time we've had problems. The girl at the drive thru repeated our order back correctly and then they proceeded to get all of the burgers wrong. We still love the fries. The chocolate milkshakes were almost half whipped cream. They used to ask if you wanted whip cream or not. Still, almost half??? And they didn't even taste like chocolate. The dining room is closed. Drive thru only. I read they were closing a lot of their restaurants across the country. Also, they are going to install kiosks, no more servers. Which means no more jobs for humans. Too many businesses are going this route. I, for one, am not pleased with this particular change at all. Who knows what other jobs will be eliminated next. So, to get this straight 1) You order your own food, thru a computer 2) Are we paying the computer, as well? 3) Are they going to lower the prices, since you the customer is doing most of the work. Next thing you know, we'll be cooking our own food. Remind me, why we "go out to eat". Oh right, to GO OUT TO EAT, NOT TO GO OUT TO WAIT/SERVE OURSELVES. These places are going to eliminate all reasons to have fast food restaurants, which in turn, eliminates themselves. To the CEO's, listen to the public. People matter! Update, October 2022: Will NOT return. ZERO STARS! Went through the drive thru today. They screwed up the order, again. When we asked him to repeat the order, because we thought, we can't hear him...maybe he couldn't hear us; He got an attitude and began to be rude. Received the order, pulled over to check it. It was all screwed up. Had to go inside. The guy was rude again, said he made it correctly. Then said whatever. At no time were we rude. There was no reason for his behavior. Truly the food is a zero, as well. I'm sure this restaurant will close soon. Terrible food, service...

I would give a half star if it would let me. We went on 9/15/18 at about midnight. It was after a concert. There wasn't many people there. We placed our order and waited. In the meantime a bottle of A1 sauce was dropped on the floor and was not cleaned up. It took him so long to put a wet floor sign over it, I was telling people to watch where they stepped when they went by our table. Then we noticed the floor that was under our table. It was disgusting! Someone earlier in the night had spilled a drink and that wasn't cleaned up at all. He brought us our drinks but forgot our shakes and only brought out a few waters. We reminded him of of the shakes and he said he will go see about it. We waited for our food. Food came and we didn't have any napkins or silverware. I had asked for tomato and avocado on my grilled cheese. When he brought it out it was on the side. He had said that he told them to put it on it but they didn't and asked if it was ok. I said "no" but was going to deal with it. I didn't want to wait for another one. Meanwhile, we are still waiting for shakes and he forgot a side of fries. He finally came to check on us when we were almost done eating and we told him that we didn't get the shakes and the fries. He didn't even put the shakes in so we said forget it and to also forget the fries. We waited for our bill and he finally came over and said because so many things were messed up he was just gonna pay for it. I said that I just wanted to speak to the manager and he said that he wouldn't come over but would let him know. He also said that previously in the day that the manager had already paid for 6 meals because they we messed up. I cant believe that a place can still run when you have a manager like that. And by the way, he never came over!...
