Just wanted to take a moment to point out a number of factual errors in Mister Universal's review of Coral Reef Indoor Mini Golf. First, I am a regular customer and a season pass holder at Coral Reef. The gentleman who posted the review and his family were playing ahead of me. I had been there for hours playing before this man and his family arrived. I was behind the family on the course and waiting for them to play each hole. It quickly became clear this family didn't understand golf etiquette, which calls for allowing faster players to "play through." But that's okay. Not everyone does understand. When Eric saw how long they were taking (allowing their youngest child to have 20 plus putts on the hole), he very politely asked the parents if they would let me play through when they finished the hole they were on, so they could take their time and enjoy the rest of their game. They did so, and I played through. Later, the family was on hole 17, and then started working their way backwards through a few holes, appearing to replay those holes. Eric asked them, politely, several times, including once on the intercom, to continue back to where they left off their game. They appeared to ignore each of his requests. When he was cleaning the course, he told them he hadn't said anything, but they are not supposed to play holes multiple times. They questioned why I was playing multiple games, and Eric explained that I was a season pass holder, and the gentleman said something to the effect of "well why don't you try to sell me a season pass." Eric did try, explaining the cost for families and the benefits of a season pass. He then had an extended conversation with them that I didn't hear all the details of, because I was finishing my game, but it appeared to be very pleasant, very cordial, and the family seemed fine when they left. Eric also attempted to keep their youngest child from getting hurt as he kept wandering from his parents, so he asked the child to stay with his mom and dad. I know Eric, and all you have to do is read all the reviews of him on this site to quickly get an idea of his love for mini golf and his appreciation for his customers. I never write reviews on anything, but wanted to address this. Don...
Read moreThis is in regards to the attitude of the employee not the policy - I walked in with a big group and immediately was singled out by the employee at the counter. He pointed my out and dramatically said COME HERE! As if i'm a convict or something. I'm halfway to him (not close to him whatsoever) and he yells I DIDN'T WANT TO EMBARASS YOU BUT YOU CAN'T HAVE THE DRINK IN HERE! I go "ok" and turn around to leave to put my cup back in the car and he proceeds to yell at me and say YEAH THERES A GIANT SIGN ON THE DOOR SWEETIE! As if i was arguing? I literally said ok and went to put it away. First of all, I came in with a giant group and wasn't paying attention to the doors as we had them open for all of us. Second of all, the way he spoke to me was as if he was speaking down to me and belittling me. You knew you were "embarassing" me because you still screamed it and third of all there was no need for that snarky remark of "the giant sign on the door, sweetie" Everyone in my group who heard his tone agreed that it was incredibly rude and unnecessary. I understand policies and i have absolutely no issues with it but you don't speak to your customers that way. The place as a whole was unappealing and pales in comparison to nearby golf places. Lets just say I see why there was a coupon for this place on groupon. According to other reviews, i'm not the only one this has happened to where we get an unnecessary attitude from the man that ruins everything. Do...
Read moreIn short? This is a well maintained mini golf course, on par (pun intended) with others in Branson, but nothing to really make it stand out.
Took my family here and we are, to say the least, casual mini golfers. We've tried many of the other places in town but hadn't been to this one. We went on a slower day in early fall, but there were other people there.
Pros? Staff was friendly, good, and tried to pace sending new guests on the course to minimize bunching. Price was as reasonable as any in Branson, although we did use a deal we purchased online to get that down some.
Cons? You are in a giant one room building, so while they tried hard on their theming, you never really lose the feeling that you are in a warehouse that somebody threw some underwater decorations into the middle and called it a day. The holes themselves are all very standard mini golf holes. "Oooh, this one has a rock in the middle", "Oooh, there is a shortcut bridge on this one". Very little in the hole design made this place stand out from any other one. And finally, temperature--the room was muggy & stuffy on a hot fall day with a few people. I can only imagine what it's like in mid July with a crowd. Simple fact of life, a warehouse with floor to ceiling windows will not be fully climate controlled. It is what it is, just be aware what you're in for.
All in all I don't mind the dollars I spent here, I just don't have any particular reason to go back...
