Two stars because the crepes are good but the inefficiency and the service is terrible. The General Manager told us they were "changing shifts" for the cashier and weren't taking orders. So we stood in line even longer than normal... Yet at the same time he's on the phone with customers and they're coming in and paying for orders. But refused to take orders of customers inside.
Then when they finally started taking orders inside again... ITS THE SAME CASHIER THAT WAS TAKING THEM BEFORE THEY STOPPED.
So we waited over an hour and they clearly made up an excuse for how poorly the place is ran.
I don't see a way to respond back to the owners comment, so I will respond via this addition to my original comment.
Dear Owner,
From your response you did not clearly read my original complaint. Your team (including your General Manager that was in the restaurant, is this you?) WERE NOT TAKING ANY ORDERS. You clearly stopped taking all orders INSIDE the restaurant for an extended period of time. So once you finally decided to take orders at the register again, you took ONLY a few and then pushed them out. So even thought your "ticket time" says it took appx 2-4 minutes (which is completely false because there was an order of 10 crepes in front of me from a large groups of ladies and you all had messed up their order terribly and had to make an additional 3 crepes for them (a sugar crepe, and two strawberry one's). So your numbers of wait time are completely skewed/falsified because you only count the wait time from when your team feels like taking orders, not from the time your customers come into your establishment and begin...
Read moreNot worth it! Just walk a block to Trolley Crepes which is the same but reasonably priced. The crepe cart is generating at least $5.4M in annual revenue not including the mandatory 18% tip and 3% required credit card charge. No other normal business does this.
Why is it a scam? The menu next to the sidewalk has no mention of the 18% mandatory tip. It’s not until you get to the front of the line after you’ve been waiting for 10-50 minutes that the point of sale discloses there is a mandatory tip. It’s not transparent pricing, it’s a scam.
I personally asked the manager if the 18% tip was mandatory, and they said “yes, unfortunately, the owner has decided to take this direction with his business strategy.” This is a self serve stand with about 5 counter stools and plastic forks and knives, hardly worth 18% mandatory tip. Alex LaMarca (owner), no customers want a mandatory tip, but it’s a profitable short term money grab for you isn’t it.
Alex LaMarca, in 2016 you stated on a busy day, your team is making 900 crepes. You now have two crepe restaurants. 900 crepes X $15 per crepe X 200 busy days X two busy crepe restaurants = $5.4 MILLION dollars. Can’t you can afford to pay your own workers a livable wage and not force your customers to do it for you? If customers weren’t tipping because they waited too long for a crepe, maybe you should figure out the staffing.
Glad to see there was almost no line at crepe cart over Labor Day week, as this place is overhyped. It’s just a crepe. Take your...
Read moreWent here based on a recommendation from a friend. Stood in line for about 20min at the one on main street before noticing the bottom, right corner of the menu board where it referenced a 2nd location (309 South Ridge Street Alley) less than 1/2 block away. So we walked around 2 corners and there you go. Bigger menu, no line and AWESOME crepe's! We had the Parisian (savory crepe with Melted brie with cob smoked ham & Dijon mustard) then walked more of Breckenridge then stopped back by on the way out of town for the sweet ones to-go. Got the Dulce De Leche Delight (Dulce de leche, toasted almonds, angel food cake and Frangelico) and a Crepe a la Brie & Apple (Brie, fresh apple slices, toasted almonds, and honey). AMAZING!!! Definitely worth the visit. Unfortunately I forgot to take photos before we devoured...
