Extremely Disappointing Experience at the Blue Stag: Rude Service and Inconsiderate Waiter!
I recently visited the Blue Stag restaurant, and I must say that I was utterly disappointed with the service I received. The behavior of our waiter, Charlie, was nothing short of appalling. From the moment we sat down, it was evident that he had no interest in providing a pleasant dining experience.
To begin with, Charlie's attitude was extremely rude and inconsiderate. Despite our polite attempts to engage in conversation and place our orders, he continuously interrupted us and showed a complete lack of respect. It was as if he had no time or patience for our table, making us feel unwelcome and unimportant.
What truly infuriated me was Charlie's blatant disregard for our comfort. He not only moved our drinks without asking, but he also took our menus out of our hands and flipped our menus towards the cocktail section, as if we were incapable of making our own decisions. This level of presumptuousness was highly disrespectful and showed a complete lack of professionalism.
Perhaps the most distressing aspect of our encounter with Charlie was his clear gender bias. He spoke down to my sister simply because she was a woman, displaying a shocking level of sexism. His condescending tone and dismissive attitude were unacceptable and deeply offensive. It is disheartening to witness such behavior in a supposedly reputable establishment.
Furthermore, Charlie's mention to not take our order because he claimed to have another order to deal with first was simply unacceptable. As paying customers, we deserve to be attended to promptly and with respect. His prioritization of other tables over ours left us feeling neglected and unimportant.
In conclusion, Charlie, our waiter at the Blue Stag, was sincerely a complete jerk. His rude demeanor, inconsiderate actions, and discriminatory behavior towards my sister ruined what could have been an enjoyable dining experience. We promptly left after only a few moments of how his greeting was, and didn't even place our orders.
I strongly advise against visiting this establishment if you value good service and basic...
Read moreStopped in on a Friday night for dinner, 10:00-ish. Seated promptly, dining room 50% capacity... hmmm. Server came immediately and asked for our order. I explained we had just been seated and would like a chance to look over the menu. Must have set him off, because with the place half empty, it was a full 20 minutes (almost walk-out time) before the server returned. Obviously, the served taught us a little lesson there. Sparing more details, the service we received was a train wreck, thus the 1 star rating. One expects a pleasant experience when dining out, not frustration derived by a 20 minute order-wait, having to request a soda straw 3 times, or your drink twice. Yikes! Now for the atmosphere - it was definitely tilted toward a rippin' bar, despite a comfortable and well-appointed dining area. Music was deafening and the selections were of the unidentifiable, gut-grinding, thump-thump variety; indigestion-inducing. On to the food, the highlight. Wife ordered the Cauliflower Tikka Masala, and absolutely loved it! Daughter had the Pork Carnitas Tacos, which quite curiously are served with fries, versus chips and salsa. She was favorably impressed, as well. I had the Sausage and Peppers Pizza. Note to self - pay very close attention to the detailed description under the entree. First bite was a surprising mouthful of unexpected flavors. Cheesy, sweet and garlicky, combined with the dry texture and bland flavor of ricotta. It was like "Dr. Frankenstein, meet sausage and pepper pizza." I own it, due to not reading the description, but c'mon, why would anyone do this to a sausage and pepper pizza? There should be pizza rules, defining ingredient boundary limitations. Perhaps some people would enjoy this pie, but I found it absolutely inedible. Sum conclusion, food gets an OK, just be on your game with the pizza. Atmosphere did not lend itself to pleasant dining experience, due to the loud and anti-gastronomic music. As for the service, it was abysmal, abhorrent, and full-on unacceptable. Until the dining atmosphere and service components are resuscitated, I cannot recommend dining at...
Read moreOn vacation with my brothers in Breckenridge, and we decided to visit this place for dinner. We placed an order for two appetizers, and as we were trying to explain on whose checks we wanted each of the apps our server told us that they couldn’t split checks, and that it said so on the menu. Okay, that’s frustrating, but fine. I understand how splitting checks can be an issue in the busy season, but we’re here in the off season, it seemed slow in the restaurant, there’s only three of us, but whatever. Server leaves to put in our app order. We then examined the menu and it clearly stated that they can split checks evenly up to four ways. Interesting. Our server flat out lied to us.
We were then very much ignored for the rest of our time there. Our server seemed like he was bartending and picking up a section on the floor? Not sure, but he was awfully chatty with bar guests and coworkers, meanwhile his food was ran for him (none of the food runners stuck around long enough to find out if we needed anything) I had to get up and fetch my own ketchup and salt and pepper from the server station… he interfaced with our table three times: app order, entree order, and drop check.
I ordered a medium burger and it came out well done. The cheese dip was okay. One of my brothers had the braised elk stroganoff. I tried it and it was good. My other brother had the chili and liked it. The food wasn’t terrible, but frankly the service was.
I’m writing this for the GM. I’ve never left a restaurant review in my life, but our service was truly remarkable, and not in a good way. If I had servers offering these types of experiences to guests of my restaurant I would hope that one of those guests would say something. As it stands there are plenty of great places to eat in Breckenridge. My recommendation would be to steer clear of Blue...
