Other reviews have complained about the noise, that’s because people LIVE here, this isn't a tourist rental.|| ||Check in was a nightmare. First off the condo complex shares an entrance with a ski shop and a restaurant, so you're not even sure you're in the right place.||||TWO phone calls to Wyndham’s “front desk” and still couldn’t get clear information on how to find the front desk. Come to find out, there is NO “front desk”. You have to go a different location to check in and it was like pulling teeth to get the phone reps to explain to me where we were supposed to go. We wound up walking to the Wyndham check in location and told the clerk there how unhelpful the front desk clerks on the phone were. He said confusion with check in happens all the time and it was the booking website’s fault. WTF!!??||||Yeah, it's located close to Main Street, but that's not always a plus. Lights and noise from the bars are annoying. The condo complex shares an entrance with a Mexican restaurant. Every time we left or returned to our condo, we had to push our way through a hallway crowded with tons of people waiting for a table for the restaurant. People fill the hallway, kids are playing games on the floor, others are sitting on the floor right in front of the elevator. Not their fault, they don’t where the elevator goes to, NO signage saying keep this area clear so people can get to the elevator. ||||You will NOT want to use the hot tub. The tub is in the center of the complex, surrounded on all four sides by condos. Every time we walked by to get to our room we could look right down and see if anyone was in the hot tub. And all the condos look right out onto the hot tub, they can look right out their front window and right into the hot tub. NO privacy.||||Other reviews are correct about the outdated décor and poor condition of the common areas. The actual condo is closed up for who knows how long so it’s like walking into an old house that hasn’t been lived in for a long time. The rooms are stale and musty and the windows look like they were installed 50 years ago. There is a skylight over the bedroom so you can’t sleep because the moon shines light right down on you.||||What’s worse is Wyndham, the booking agent, and the owners know about ALL these issues and have not done anything to fix them! If they did a better job of training their phone reps or putting better signs out people wouldn’t have such a hard time with check in!! Horrible...
Read moreOverall, we were not very happy but, it wasn't the worst place ever either. What really bothered me was that I called and specifically requested one of the updated condos (not all are) and was repeatedly told that they had set that up for me. If what we got a was updated, they need to fire the person who handled it (see photos). Here's the good, the bad and the ugly.||||The Good||* Excellent location that puts you within easy walking distance of downtown attractions.||* The condo was very clean and the kitchen was well-supplied.||* The bedding was very nice quality||||The Bad||* There is no concierge service... no front desk... only a phone number to call||* Only one key is supplied and don't get locked out. They charge you $36 to come unlock it for you.||* The hallways and elevator stink and are dirty.||* The main door to the room is not very secure. It offers only one lock and it's not very solid.||* The parking garage is tricky to navigate and cluttered with junk||* While most appliances and equipment work, they are very outdated. ||||The Ugly||* The building is aging, smells funny (except for the room), and is cluttered in places.||* The decor is outdated (textured wallpaper, old decor, old appliances, and...
Read moreI rented 2 units at Der Sterimark recently. A 2 bedroom and 1 bedroom condo. It was clear from the beginning that a good customer experience was not important.||||This property is old and in dire need of an update. The major issues we encountered during our stay were:||1. Rodent dropping in the 2 bedroom condo.||2. Light pollution at night in the bedrooms. The bedrooms have windows facing a corridor that has really bright lights. The window treatments were cheap and did nothing to block the light. Getting a good nights sleep ... impossible.||3. Speaking of no sleep, one night in the condo above us there was a domestic dispute that lasted from 9pm to 3am the next morning. These people were yelling, cussing and running around for hours. We were concerned for our safely. Another sleepless night.||||Renting a condo through a management company with no onsite representation is a large part of the problem.||||I stayed at this place for the location, but the reality is, with the free shuttle system, you can stay many other places and have the same access to...
