If I could give this place a negative rating, I would, as even a negative zero stars would not be enough to reflect the poor service I received. My son wanted tacos and suggested this restaurant. The online hours stated they were open until 11 PM, and when we arrived at 9:58 PM, there were still several people dining and enjoying drinks. Despite this, the host had to ask for permission to seat us. When I requested to speak with the manager, she also had to seek approval, even though she had just introduced herself as the general manager. This left me puzzled about the apparent confusion. They then informed us that they were only offering carry-out service. I wanted to go somewhere else, but my son was set on eating here.
After placing our order, I asked for chips, which I would have received complimentary if we were dining in. Instead of simply accommodating my request, the manager argued with me for a full eight minutes about charging for the chips. It wasn’t until I asked to for the owners information that they suddenly seemed to understand my concerns, though it was clear they understood all along. They just wanted to go out of their way to give me a hard time.
I did not get anyone’s name yet there were 3 women, one younger, one older along with the manager. Today is Friday 8-30-24, so I hope the owner knows who was working at this time.
Based on the service I experienced, I would replace them all. Needless to say, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this restaurant. With hundreds of dining options in the area, I will never return, and I encourage you to choose another...
Read moreI'm giving this particular location two stars. One star for our server who was great. Unfortunately I didn't catch his name & he wasn't wearing a name tag. The second star is because the chips & salsa were great. Otherwise, nothing else was worth coming back for. I ordered a combo which included rice, beans, a taco, a tamale, & a chili relleno. The taco was fine. The tamale was hard like it had been frozen & not completely cooked through. The rice was dry, the beans were okay. The chili relleno was allegedly deep fried but it was totally soggy like they placed it in a bowl of water after they fried it half way through. They topped EVERYTHING with salsa. A lot of it. Nothing was hot, it was lukewarm at best & this was also the case for everyone else at our table. I found a hair in my chili relleno. I told the server, he apologized & took my platter. He came back less than 5 minutes later & the only thing that had changed was that there was MORE salsa on top of EVERYTHING. Needless to say I didn't eat it & when it was brought to the manager's attention he apologized but that was it. I'll only be dining at the Homer Glen Pepe's...
Read moreUnfortunately last night was our last visit to this location. We have always loved this location and the service we receive. Food is always good and fresh. I bought a deal on local flavor $15 for $30 worth of food. After eating we went to the front to pay our bill and the owner (I believe.) gave us a hard time. He first lied and told me we had to spend $45. Which in the fine print clearly says for take out only, you just spend $30. After I called him out on that nicely he switched to well you didn’t spend $30, we were .30 off. All restaurants around here either round it for you or would tell you you’re just short, add something. No problem. We didn’t want to hold up the line and ended up just paying the bill. We technically saved $1. What’s the purpose of offering deals on Local Flavor if you don’t honor what they say? Just left a bad taste in our mouth. We will be going to other locations from now on. Highly recommend if using a local flavor be sure to show him...
