First, I would like to say Becky was a phenomenal waitress! I lived for her Christmas accessories she added to the uniform! Now on to the food...Their rolls are amazing! I'm a sucker for pumpernickel, so they had me at hello. The honey butter just takes it to another level (10/10)! We had the spinach dip to start (8/10). I think some artichokes would have taken it up a notch, but the flavor was good. I think their appetizer menu could use some better options. We went on a Saturday, so they had half priced bottles of wine. Becky gave me a sample to help me make my final decision. We indulged. We didn't finish the White Zinfandel, but she corked it for us to take home. I had the Ribeye (9/10) and Becky recommended the Hawaiian Ribeye so my bf had that. He gave it a 10/10 due to the flavor and perfect cook on it. He said it was better than Houston's which speaks volumes! I tried it and I'm inclined to agree. Now we both ordered our steaks medium. Mine was cooked a little under. However, I didn't finish it. I took it home so once reheated it was perfect. I got the loaded baked potato and he got the loaded mash. They salted the skin of the baked potato, so they won me over with that and the mash was easier to enjoy of course, either way both were a 10/10. We also got caesar salads which are classics and kinda hard to mess up. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this place and can't believe it's taken me so long to try it. They have a nice atmosphere and the lighting helps to create a nice romantic ambiance. The full body mirror in the ladies bathroom was a plus too! Becky was so sweet, polite, and attentive. Our cups were never empty and all finished plates were removed quickly! She also set me right with some bread and water to go, as well, which was greatly appreciated! We'll...
Read moreDriving semi truck usually doesn’t provide me with the greatest of food choices. However, I’ve made several deliveries close by this restaurant and finally stopped to try it out. From my entrée I ordered the Haystack Pasta which is grilled chicken, sautéed mushrooms and a Parmesan mushroom cream sauce usually served over linguine. But they had a couple other pasta dishes with bowtie and they were happy to substitute the linguine for bowtie pasta. The chicken was tender and flavorful the mushrooms were cooked well and the Parmesan and mushroom cream sauce was velvety smooth and very hearty. My only critique is personal preference and that is maybe a few more mushrooms would be nice. This is just the type of comfort food I need today! The portion was extremely generous, certainly enough for two. I’ll have the other half tomorrow for lunch. It also came with warm brown bread rolls with butter. Wonderful! While it wasn’t on their to go menu, I saw an old menu online advertising a Peanut Butter Pie. With peanut butter being my kryptonite, I could not refuse and order a piece. The peanut butter mousse had a light smooth texture but a richly decadent flavor. It’s sat on top of an Oreo cookie/chocolate graham cracker crust. It came with a side of whipped topping and chocolate sauce. I almost ordered a slice of Keylime pie too, however that will have to wait for another visit. The portion size of the pie is easily enough for two people. My apologies for the poor photos in the to go containers but I did not have time to sit down and enjoy the meal inside. The bathrooms were clean. The atmosphere was a little loud but not too bad. The staff were...
Read moreMy wife and I were going to Drakes. That was the plan, we have ate Drakes 1000 times and its consistent service but mediocre food. Never ate at Aubreys, but I was told by a coworker to try Aubrey's - they said it was good but expensive. They were partially right. The food is insanely good. The price was shockingly low! The classy environment and way the staff operate like a well oiled machine, blew us away! Best restaurant in the TriCities.
Our waitress Elaina and the GM Jacob were great! We could not have asked for a better waitress. She was knowledgeable, took our order without writing anything down, recommended everything we ordered for us, which was sooooo good, wasn't in a hurry to get us out, great customer service. She chatted with us about where she was from, her career at Aubreys and how much she loves the job. Rare to find great customer service like her. Halfway through our meal a gentleman walks up to our table and asks how our experience is! It was the GM Jacob. I was shocked at how personable, nice, and caring he was. He gave us a little history on Aubrey's and the paintings that hang throughout the dining room. He explained his career at Aubrey's as well as asked us about ourselves. Before he walked away he told us to pick our two desserts from the menu - and he would pay for them. Wow! We had already ordered enough food to feed a small army but when they said banana pudding, I was making room. Lol. Overall - I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. I know that I will be telling everyone to eat there, and we will make it our new normal date night. Great first...
