Cafe Rio Fresh Modern Mexican — Restaurant in Buckeye

I went to Cafe Rio at around 9pm tonight , and when at the speaker I was told that they were out of steak along with their mango drink. Understandable it’s the end of the night. I did need additional time now to change my order because there is no steak.

When at the speaker , the person on the other end was super rude. I get it’s the end of the night/shift, but the entire transaction was not pleasant. When I asked for extra chicken and fajita veggies, I knew it was an extra charge, but the person (I believe it was a female) on the other end had an attitude. “That’s going to be an extra charge.”

I got to the window and the transaction there was alright. The girl was a bit confused about my total , and didn’t seem like she was comfortable with being at the window, which we all have to learn somehow. Again, I understand.

I get home to eat my food , and I’m excited to indulge in the extra fajita veggies I got on the bowl, keep in mind I paid $17 for this. As to my surprise there were no fajita veggies in the bowl. I was super disappointed with not only the service / unprovoked attitude , but my food too. It just felt like I was being pushed out of the drive through as fast as possible. I was the only one there. Ive never had any issues here before so this was all new.

The 2 ladies that were there when I came in are great 1st point of contacts for your place! I have been in the food and beverage business my entire life. I'm retired from it now. But I would have loved having workers like this! When I walked in and walked up to the counter, one was in the back, and one was making tortillas, I think. Anyway, the young lady in the back didn't see me right away, so here came the lady from the job she was doing had washed her hands and began to help me. Before she even got my order started, the lady (maybe manager) from the back was right beside her, and they just smiled at each other. And in a matter of moments, my enchiladas were ready, and my 4x points were in the computer, and she verified my name to be sure I was getting my own points! It was like a happy, well-oiled machine! Then when I got home and opened everything up... it was picture perfect and delicious! Everything I needed was there, and the food was packed great! Hot with hot and cold with cold... I will definitely visit this location anytime I'm in the Buckeye area! I visited on Sunday, July 6th, 2025, around the noonish hour. I hope someone tells them they are doing a great job!!! Not many Café Rio's have anyone like these ladies!

So excited Buckeye finally gets the chance to experience the awesomeness that is Café Rio! Walked in just before noon no wait which was great! Ordered a tostada with no beans got the dirtiest look. Ordered my protein and went onto the next station. The gentleman asked if I wanted lettuce and I said a little bit well my whole plate was full of lettuce no room for any cheese or sour cream or guacamole. When it came time to cash out I was told my total was almost 3 dollars more than the original price I asked the cashier why and very rudely she said because you got two extra dressings. I said ma’am I didn’t ask for two extra dressings the gentleman asked me if I wanted a dressing and I said the house dressing please. She said well he gave you two dressings so I have to charge you for them. I said or you can take them out of the bag and not charge me for them and I will pay the correct price for a tostada or you can throw this whole order out and I will go elsewhere. Working close to this restaurant and having many other lunch options I am sad to say that I probably won’t be back. It sucks because I’ve been waiting for months for...
