Smokey Mo's BBQ — Restaurant in Bulverde

Today, when I got home the two peach cobblers I ordered weren't in the bag. I ordered three meats, two large sides and the cobbler. I wasn't offered the family meal and hadn't noticed it advertised. The family meal came with a gallon of tea. I asked for the tea because my order was even more.

The manager made a big deal out of a cheap gallon of tea which is mostly water. I said, "Okay, re-ring me and give me the family order and a $10 refund." Then he gave me the tea. I just called for the cobbler. I didn't feel like getting dressed to go back. Manager didn't offer me an apology, gift card...nothing. Just allowing me to pick up two tomorrow. Wow. Lucky me. Update. My gripe wasn't about the food. The food has always been great. The service is just a little quirky at times. I went back to get my peach cobbler. It was worth the 5 min. drive back over. While there, the manager apologized and offered a gift card. The tea was great. I never had it before. It's perfect Texas sweet tea. Now I'll drive over just to buy their tea if I'm not in the mood for BBQ. Just don't wait too long to drink it. It's fresh and fresh tea has a short shelf life. I read another review before writing my first. She talked about the brisket and the follow up from the owner is correct. Always ask for 'marbled' brisket. This was the first time that we came to your restaurant. What a great place! I mentioned it was our first time in there and the gentleman explained everything to us. The person that gave us our food made sure we had everything. Great customer service! As for the food, we didn't what to expect. We got breakfast tacos with brisket. It was nothing less than excellent! Thank you for a great experience. Your place will be our new place to go on Saturday mornings. I will tell everyone, if you want the full package, great customer and great food - this is the place to go!!!!!

So it has been a while since we made this post. But I will tell you that nothing has changed and it's just gotten better! We make it a point as our Saturday ritual for breakfast to get our breakfast tacos which are amazing! For the first time ever, last night we tried their dinner meal and we wished that we actually got this way before last night because it was nothing but amazing! The employees there are nothing but phenomenal, caring, and want nothing less than to take care of their customers. Their customers. They are such a great group and you will always feel like you are at home. Thank you for taking care of us and feeding us...

My mother and I stopped here this morning. 12-3-21 It was roughly 11am so we missed the breakfast window. The cut off time for breakfast is 10:30am. Upon entry, the establishment appeared very clean. The lady's restroom was very clean. The floors were spotless and plenty of t.p. and paper towels avaliable. The menu is simple, not over complicated at all. We both ordered the chicken with sides. The chicken is ridiculously moist! And the flavor is quite divine. The meat tastes like it just came off a grill. Reminded me of my Uncle's delicious Bar B Que. Anyhow, I ordered potato salad and that was very flavorful. My mother had the coleslaw and green beans as a side. Her only dislike were the chunks of ham in the green beans, but she was able to remove them. Arrive with a large appetite because they serve you plenty of food 🙂 The price is reasonable for the amount of food received. There's plenty of seating inside if you are traveling with a large group.
